More Balder & Karnilla Goodness

I've had a request for B/K goodness so here it is. I do love the way they snap at each other.
While there is much love for the Simonson and JMS runs of Thor (justified) there have been other runs which I feel affection for. Such as Len Wein's.
It's '70s Thor. It's funky and full of adventures. Enjoy!
It's the 1970s in the Thorverse. That means Thor is always jetting off to space to wreck aliens and living planets in the face, feuding with Odin and going, "Jane! Sif!".
So when Thor's in space and Odin's dead or fighting Celestials; who is keeping the lights on in Asgard? That's right, Balder the Brave.
To me Thor and Balder are like the Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig of Asgard. Thor is more powerful, flashier and gets all the press and attention. But who is always backing him up, guarding Odin's throne and smiting foes with workmanlike skill? Balder, that's who. He's the Iron Horse of the Golden Realm, he always does right, works hard and is doomed.
And who is in the Bright One's corner? Karnilla, Queen of the Norns.
I just love the dynamic between them. She pursues him, she's older, wiser and more powerful. He's kinder, gentler and let's face it, prettier.
It's the God of Light and the Queen of Darkness. That shit writes itself.
So here are some good '70s moments between them.
After yet another battle for Asgard.
Balder is watching over Asgard while Thor is in space searching for Odin.
Balder and Karnilla must hold Asgard against an army of enchanted suits of armor.
I love Karnilla's expression in the last panel.
Balder goes a-scouting.
Karnilla's thoughts on Balder during a war council.
The Enchantress and Skurge enter Hey Kool-Aid! style.
I like this cover.
There is a battle between Skurge and Balder. Skurge has the upper hand but Karnilla will not stand and do nothing.
Tag-team battle. BTW, Amora used to be a student of Karnilla's.
Not the real Thor. Loki, you sly puss.
Do not attack Balder around Karnilla. Pity the poor waiter who gets his order wrong during their date night.
Later, Loki has taken over Agard (again) and Thor and crew seek Karnilla for info. She's not in her castle but is resting in her summer cave.
I'm going to both encounter between them after Balder's journey into Hel for my next post.
