So while viewing this preview for X-Force #7, it reminded me of a video I recently saw. But I'll get to that at the end, first, the scans.

Logically, all flying (and super fast) superheroes should be covered in bugs. Thank god for the conventions of the genre.

Rogue has mentioned it at least once, as I recall...

I suppose it would depend how high you fly, too, and whether you're someone who flies on the wind or with TK, or flies under your own power. Storm or Phoenix would probably be fine...Rogue and Angel get the bugs!

Out of all of this, the thing that got me most is Deadpool's little part. Because its true.

Yep. It reminds of a conversation he had with Cable way back in his original series before he saved the world for the first time.

Yeah. He referred to himself and Cable as the garbage men of the universe. They take out the trash and no one likes them for it. But even garbage men get a watch at the end of it. (Cable was dying at the time or some such which is where the conversation came from)

It's so sad that THIS Deadpool interests me more than the Deadpool being written in his own solo.

According to wiki, it's an after effect of her meeting with the Sisterhood of Mutants, she has both telekinesis and telepathy, but has difficulty in using both at the same time as it splits her concentration too much.

The bulshitty back and forth about her powers is one of the many, many reasons I don't like the character (actually, "bullshitty back and forth" is a perfect way to sum up Psylocke), but I have to admit, I love that the Butterfly effect is back. It's such a great visual.

You know what bugs me the most about this issue? Just how right Deadpool is. Fantomex will easily redeem himself and Deadpool will always be that crazy guy to avoid no matter how much good he does. Stupid Marvel double standards.... And their repeating Deadpool storylines....

The thing about Deadpool is he's got such a history of playing on the edge and doing nasty stuff. Even Cable gave up on him for awhile in Cable & Deadpool, because Wade simply couldn't stop himself.


What I think makes this exchange great is it's both true, yet I can completely understand where the other people are coming from too. Even if he's doing good, one has that constant worry it won't last.

Cable gave up on him for good reason. But then Deadpool got better. Well, he got worse and then better but you get what I mean.

The only reason it didn't last was because after Cable and Deadpool, Deadpool wasn't in much. And then Way picked him up and instead of the 'I'll only kill as a last resort and I'm on the way to at least being neutral to heroes' we had been left with to all of a sudden he's killing left and right, none of his friends are around, and suddenly has two voices in his head.

What I meant with my comment was that Fantomex gets away with killing a kid with only Betsy and Deadpool saying anything and knowing comics with the reveal at the end of this issue, I can see him being redeemed while Deadpool is always horrible forever. Well, horrible forever and then 'IMMA BE A HERO' plots repeating over and over only for status quo to reassert itself at the end of the arc.

To be fair, I think he does gain the respect of individuals. While I think he's never going to be loved, some people do remember the times he tries.

That's because being the underdog is integral to Deadpool's character. If he wasn't so regularly disliked by everyone else, there wouldn't be such a woobie effect for the fans :p

Besides, part of that is that he's not extremely sane, and is pretty irritating as a person to the people around him. That makes him awesome and hillarious as a character, but spending time near him probably makes people want to strangle him very quickly. That doesn't help appreciating whatever good deed a person may have done (most of those Wade's done aren't widely known about anyway).

It's funny, but Deadpool is one of the few eternal underdogs I'm happy to have remain there. At some point, Spiderman really ought to grow. He's been in the Avengers, he's saved the world, he's a member of the Future Foundation, he's not a put-upon kid anymore, Marvel needs to stop selling him that way.

But Deadpool! Not only is he crazy and historically murderous, but as one the finest killers on the planet, the truth is, it's the only reason people pay attention to him. He can't give it up, or all his top-tier frenemies would have no reason to talk to him anymore. So he's stuck. His skills and guns are what keep him in the game, and what keep everyone from trusting him at the same time. That's why for me, the LL&L Messiah storyline remains the quintessential Deadpool story. Where they ask him to save the world, and he's inspired to be the near-invincible warrior that he is in the service of Right, until he find out in the end, it's just another hit, dressed up in pretty language.

They'll never trust him because he's a killer, but sometimes that's what they need. I think that's why people who can recognize that moral ambiguity, like Taskmaster, Outlaw, Constrictor, Blind Al, and Monty are such great side-characters for him.

Yes, but so is sleeping with your patient (Xavier) your nurse (Xavier again I think - may have just been the cartoon) and declaring your love for your student is definitely on the iffy side (Onslaught Xavier) so Betsy is in good company.
