God, I hadn't even considered that. Although clearly, neither has anyone else! I always thought that "Gotcha gotcha gotcha GOTCHA!" was one of the most brutal twists of the knife in any superhero comic I've ever read, especially since Harry genuinely seemed to make some measure of peace with Peter at the end, there.
I wonder if that was always the plan for Peter's parents, or if it was changed later. On one hand, there's a story just before Harry's death where Harry indicates that he knows something horrible's going on with the parents. On the other hand, there were no clues in the big #200 death from what I recall. Although I'll be keeping an eye out for that when I reread the issues with Henchgirl.
