I won't mention whose voice that is in the first text box...

Luthor's got an upgrade... a "Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet" sort of upgrade by the looks of it...

Can you guess who might be the star of that little notion.... Yup.... one quick spacewarp later... and is this an admission from Lex coming up?

I like this next bit...

I like that Superman's first reaction to the gateway is obviously "Get Chris the hell out of there!"

He ticked the box for "Omnipotent universe manipulating powers" as his free gift when he subscribed to "Readers Digest"? :)

Something to do with the Black Ring that Luthor has been hunting for this arc.. I think...

That way lies paradox though, since he knows Mon-El won't be freed until the 30th century.

Chris is, if you'll forgive the unfortunate phrasing, fair game.

I thought about him too, but then again he has the lead poisoning and his destiny lies with the Legion (even though his significant other is in 21st century Earth and pregnant with his kid).

So Chris it is.

Yes I liked that too, how Clark just dismisses Lex once he finds an opportunity to get Chris out, and Lex grabs him and rages because how does Superman fucking dare ignore him when Lex now especially since he has all this power and is a giant threat and they are fucking no. 1 enemies dammit.

Now that I think about it, this is the equivalent to when you pretty up and want to impress someone but said person just glances at you and goes "there's something different about you" but ultimately doesn't care and just moves on.

Oh yeah lots of Foe yay, Lex teased the Joker about his foe yay with Batman but ultimately he has the same problem with Superman (probably even bigger since Kal just doesn't give a shit sometimes).

Thus the true source of Lex and Clark's enmity is revealed. Upon trying to speak to Clark in Kryptonian for the first time, Lex unknowingly asked "You want to come back to my place, bouncy bouncy?"

Curse that Prankster's Dirty Kryptonian Phrasebook.

Death doesn't kill people, she's just there when you die... so there's actually a pretty good circumstantial case that Death is Jessica Fletcher.

Once again Paul Cornell reminding me what a great writer he is. This scene is just great. Look at Lex's face as Superman figures out what's happened. Lex is pleased as punch as Superman does the math...and then is upset and then enraged when he realizes that Clark's doing a completely different equation.

He's waiting for Clark to be awed, but instead Clark isn't only non-plussed, he's not even paying attention. He's ruined EVERYTHING! So nice to see Superman written like...well, Superman.

I can't say I'm impressed with the "Wisdom, responsibility" part if they lead him to conclude that the absolute first priority item on his to-do list is spend time gloating at Superman, just like every other single time he's managed to get a kill-Superman scheme to the point where he thinks it's going to succeed.

Luthor doesn't NEED SUPER POWERS.

. . . at most his powered armor for when he wants to really smack Supes around, but he doesn't NEED SUPER POWERS.

I'd say he's gone waaaaaay beyond "superpowers" here, since he is essentially not A god, but God with a capital G.

Luthor has always wanted POWER, be it personal, political, financial or what have you. This is the ULTIMATE power he has gained, it puts him beyond any living thing in the universe, beyond even the Endless! That's not a superpower, that's divinity.

Wanting piddling little powers like flight or strength, yes, that's beneath him, but the power to reshape the reality of the entire universe on a whim? Hell yes, he'd be all over that like glaze on a donut.
