Apparently the same thing, according to the link. It seems they were shooting scenes for use in both (Some sort of bridging scene perhaps)

Well, Joss Whedon said they started shooting Avengers on the 25th, and these photos have been up on cap_ironman since the 24th? There's also a video clip of the shooting, and the Cap director is in it.

If you go here and search on 'Chris Evans' you can see them, and quite a few more, and they're dated 24th April.

Yeah, but isn't the implication that they were filmed as part of Captain America's shooting block, but are to be used in The Avengers?

They've said the framing story for the Cap movie will be modern, so I suspect it's that scene they're shooting. I would be very surprised if Whedon declared they were starting shooting after they'd already shot some scenes for it, and doubly surprised if they shot scenes for his movie and he wasn't all up in it.

In the clip we see him shaking Fury's hand, so it's very likely his first meeting with Fury, and Fury's Cap cameo.

The story I had said it was filming both the closing/credit scene of Cap and the opening of Avengers.

I'm assuming it's Steve's "I just woke up and I'm freaking out because it's the future". Because he's bolting through NY in SHIELD togs.

Chris Evans has already said he comes to the future in the Cap movie; I'd be surprised if Avengers opened with the same scene, and Whedon wasn't involved. I can't see him not being invested in the opening scene of his movie. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I think the end of the Cap movie is him freezing with the credits scene of him being found by Fury/Avengers.

I think they were filming his first scenes of the Avengers and not the general opening scene of that movie.

I would think that Cap wouldn't appear until the start of the second act of the Avengers movie.

The production designer thinks differently: 90% of the film takes place during the period 1939-1945, but the beginning and end of the feature film takes place today (massive spoilers in that link)

I have no idea why you'd think the director of Captain America would shoot scenes from the second act of Avengers.

Honestly if you found it so easy to find links that back my point I wonder why you didn't do that before arguing with me.

Is Thor still not out there? I saw it Monday.

Naw, it comes out on May 6 in the States. Does it rock? Does 3D actually do anything for it?

I can't see 3D, but in my assessment the movie rocked. A lot of fun, plenty of humour which didn't detract from the more serious parts. Great performances. If I were to quibble, Volstagg wasn't all he should be and the plot got a little lost near the end. Effects very good, some nice shared-world touches that don't derail the plot. Hemsworth is great for the role; it's definitely a younger Thor than we currently see in comics.

It's also different from most superhero movies; they've made no attempt to cram it into the usual origin story by numbers. Much the better for it.

Yeah, I'll skip 3D too. It rarely adds to the picture and justifies the extra $2-3.
