But since someone asked, I'm posting the flirting action fight scene between him and Remy.

And who wins this fight? Well I can tell you, it ain't Gambit.

But if it makes you feel better, he does pretty much disintegrate Daken's arm before, well, he's dispatched by a head shot.

And by head shot, I mean Daken punched him. In the head.

It would make sense that Daken would dislike Remy.

Daken hasn't gotten past the hate, confusion, pain and shallowness.

Remy has(to a point) and that would really push his buttons.

Well this certainly makes Gambit look good. He's being pretty kickass. And he's not saying "Ew gaygaygay!" but rather "You're a horrible person" which is true, so that's nice.

In other words he's clearly up for man-sex with other menfolk.

I'm annoyed that Daken beat Gambit. Gambit is a long term X-man and has fought opponents that knock Wolvie's little lad into a cocked hat (Sabretooth, Phoenix, Magneto, Apocalypse) so why does he lose one-on-one?

Daken cheated. He used an unconscious Laura as a quick distraction.
Still, in a fair fight, Daken could have had a good chance. He's had fifty years of samurai-ninja-assassin training in his belt. Plus the usual soldier training.

I'm really enjoying this arc! Daken battling out with Gambit, his strange relationship with Laura (and the fact that they kind of identify with each other but at the same time deny it).

Is it even subtext if its on purpose? Because I'm pretty sure the sexual tension is on purpose. That's how Liu has always written Daken: he has sexual tension with EVERYBODY!

I'm actually sort of surprised by the amount of people calling this subtext, because yeah, it's just the text, isn't it? Liu's not being the least bit coy about it, nor should he.
