Max is suspicious because if Bellamy really wanted to help the world, there would be a lot of better ways to spend the money than funding one lone vigilante, especially given the dire straits Plutonian left society in.

I still chuckle at that every time I think about it.

Don't get me wrong, I understand it's a ham-fisted metaphor, replacing alcoholism with super-villainy, but having spent a couple of years pondering on and dabbling in a shared universe where I've been writing about a super-villain (see icon) who rebuilt Detroit after a cataclysm, it makes me laugh trying to imagine Doctor Developer trashing all of his equipment before going forward.

I like how all the other characters point out to him how idiotic that was every time they hear about it.

He could have had a point but with those sentences he killed it. The whole point of Incorruptiable was that the non-superhumans are all equally vulnerable when shit hits the fan despite their different positions in society. It doesn't matter how wealthy or powerful he was he is nothing but ordinary now that society is quite nearly gone.

The fact that the penciler of INCORRUPTIBLE, Marcio Takara, was the regular penciler of the INCREDIBLES comic, only makes that comment more appropriate!
