This one I can appreciate as my nephew has gotten to that age where he has begun to challenge the world and lash out, and is shocked when the world bites back. Such mixed feelings, but it pulls on the heart strings.

Actually, I don't know how many of them other than Diana actually DO have mothers alive any more. Clark has Ma Kent, but knows his birth mother is dead.

There actually is some kind of counter-holiday (first celebrated in the 20s and made a legal but not federal-- you don't get the day off-- holiday in the anti-commie 50s) called "Loyalty Day" but even our wingiest wingnuts don't seem to bother with it.

I just thought of it as my 14th wedding anniversary.
