With it being the strip's 5th Anniversary...

For a while, there was a recurring joke...









Then, in the comic, we had this scene...





So, it would seem that Miller reads Casstoons. Or...

Steph is slightly metahuman, her superpowers being cracking wise and accidentally exploding people. Or...

EspanolBot is secretly been a 4th Wall breaking Barbara Gordon all this time, and that occasional griping about things Babs has done has just been to throw us off the scent.

YES. I fully agree with the Marvel family rec. I love them, yet they never seem to fit into the DCU properly for long, so I keep saying to myself that they need to find a unique niche...that would really work well.

I've completely given up on complaining about the entire Batgirl fiasco. I'm just kind of hoping the book will stay good and keep up steam long enough to build a lot of fan recognition, and then get a tasteful overhaul that fixes up Cass. It's easy to think "omg this is all a disaster" when you're reading it month to month, but a lot of old characters and titles went for years and years before a writer struck gold with them and put them together in a way that works.
