Journey Into Mystery: Loki's gotta do what Loki's gotta do.

Loki is learning about what his role is to be in the Fear to come...

He needs allies, wisdom but most of all, he needs to talk to his brother.

Plus Volstagg being awesome, cuz that's what he does/is.

Odin is turning Asgard into a war machine. They're even imprisoning their enemies for use as attack dogs.

Loki isn't happy, especially with Thor's imprisonment. Volstagg takes him aside to teach him wisdom.

With goat-poop.

And of course, he's awesome.



Loki turns to the wicked bird "Ikol" for wisdom. The bird tells him to visit the World Tree and the three Nornish women who sit at it's base, whispering secrets.

Loki makes a rope of Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder's wool and dons his Asgardnaut armor and dives in.

He discovers...something.





Ikol asks him if he knows his path. Loki says he does but he needs more then counsel of a wicked bird to know if he should take this path.






Hmm, I like where this going, Loki's Dirty Dozen? Nice.

Loki frees a Hel-Wolf and binds it to him with Thor's Bregd-Thrall.

Now he must gather more allies and meet another relative.

Next issue:

I really like this Loki, so of course I have the feeling that sooner or later, probably sooner, he will revert back to old Marvel Loki

Frankly, I'm amazed that he hasn't reverted already, given the fact that the Thor movie just came out and Loki is an adult villain in the movie.

According to the previews, Loki will stay a kid for at least while more. I'm pleasantly surprised that, for once, comics are simply telling good stories instead of bending themselves to become more like their respective movies. I hope it lasts as long as possible.

A heart breaking necessary evil, but one that is compassionate and full of himself enough to know that if he doesn't do the dirty deeds, something far worse would.

Still am enjoying this. Can't wait for me.

I think Loki will eventually become an adult again, but I'm sure Gillen will fight to have him not revert back to the one-dimensional trickster he was.

I like their relationship too, there's a lot of love and Loki's always jumping to save his brother from whatever danger or predicament he's in (and no one can stop him really), while Thor just worries and worries and all he wants is his brother to live a normal Asgardian life and be happy (yeah not gonna happen Thunder God).

I'm enjoying Journey Into Mystery, and the new Mighty Thor arc looks interesting.

I barely know anything about this character yet, but I feel all tender and maternal towards him. He's a lot like Damian, only not unbearable. Also he has an evil magpie companion. So that's cool.

On an unrelated note, I am seriously digging that Hel redesign. For some reason, the massive ornate headpiece never worked for me, but turning it into black shadows (possibly connected to her hair?) is genius.

I would love for the main theme of Thor and Loki's storyarc to be STUFU destity!

They've already done that in the Ragnarock storyline and it really worked for them. As for making Loki a strait up villan again I think Odin is being set up for that role. Especially if fighting fate is going to be the theme of these stories. And who better represents the status quo than ol' one eye?

I mean, they never beat people on the head that Hela was Loki's daughter ever. Heck I never knew they were father and daughter until last year when they had ONE face-to-face conversation where this mentioned, and I was "Oooh, they ARE using that mythology!"

Regardless, are they even like...related anymore? I have no idea. Isn't Hela reincarnated/reborn too? She's definitely NOT looking like her old self.

I mean, this is like the conundrum with the whole Korra with her past-self's-son shipping debate!

Sooo, not sure if want at this stage. It's...interesting.

Oh my god, I love this Loki... though it seems like he's returning to the "I must do evil for the greater good" where people will only see what he's done wrong and not care that he's doing it for them.

Thor demonstrates an interesting amount of trust in Loki. No, "Loki, what are you up to? What games are you playing?" He just answers the question, honestly.

The problem with Loki being an Anti-Hero is that it leaves Thor with out an Arch-Enemy. Every Superhero needs one. Who's going to take Loki's place as Thor's number one villain?

It's one of the rubs, there isn't anyone.

Thor isn't just a superhero, he's a god. Not even his most powerful mortal foes can match the epic clashes he finds with Loki.

At the end, without Thor there can be no Loki and without Loki there would be no Thor.
