	I tried long ago. Flirting and afterglow are easy, but writing about the event itself, even the vanilla stuff... I run out of adjectives and my British reserve kicks in and I end up getting more embarrassed than anything else. Actually, I think it's best to avoid too many adjectives, in case you end up with that florid romance novel thing going on.

The problem *I* always have is trying to coordinate the sequence of movements and events... I'm always like "wait, whose leg is where" and "dang, there's no way he could be doing both that and THAT at the same time" and finally "man, sex is boring, too many STAGES and PLATEAUS and CLIMAXES who has the time to chronicle all this shit."

Also I can only really write porn in ten minute bursts 'cause I get too excited and need to go have a lie down. I am such a thirteen-year-old boy at heart.

I recall someone mentioning one time that if the words "throbbing", "thrusting" and "sweaty" were excised from every fic on the web, the Internet would only require half the memory storage it currently does.

I imagine using Dick in your fic would solve most of those problems for you, since there would be very few positions you can envisage that he couldn't make work without effort. (Well, he IS the bendy Robin)

I also have the problem that I can imagine scenarios quite easily (one reason why I tend to get great commissions) but when it comes to writing them progressing, I just don't know where to LOOK!

Uh, no. I meant it's more of a problem with *choreographing* sex scenes. You know - keeping mental track of where everyone is and what they're doing, and making sure it's all written believably and clearly enough for the reader to visualise. Personally, if a sexual position requires flexibility and athleticism beyond that of the average healthy young person I find it too outlandish - more laughable than sexy.

I mean, I'm not sure I'd want someone doing something in the bedroom that requires outstanding flexibility. Contortionism is freaky and makes me feel a bit ill. Idk, maybe flexibility stands out as a more desirable trait if you're used to being the penetrating partner, but I'm not really equipped for that.

Ah I was thinking more of reverse engineering, the way that Carl Bark invented a fourth nephew (Named Phooey) to explain why there were too many hands or feet visible in a Huey, Dewey and Louie scene... (Oh sweet Cthulhu on a pogo stick, I've just used underage MacGuyver ducks to explain a comparison to writing porn... I'm going to a very special hell for that... probably one that plays "It's a Small World After All" on endless loop)... anyway, back at the point, my notion was that if, after the fact you realise that there's no way that hand should have been able to be there or that leg was in what seemed to be the wrong place, then the excuse "Oh it's just Dick" covers a multitude of sins)

And yes, sex scenes are always teetering on the edge of hilarious, the good ones at any rate (since it is a fundamentally absurd act), the others tend towards the just plain disturbing. :)

Ah, ok. I don't really spend much time writing fanfic (not stuff I'm willing to share with anyone else, at any rate) but if I ever do write one and then discover that I've made reference to too many hands/legs/penises, I'll just leave a footnote at the bottom that reads "and Dick was there too." :D

Well, one time I tried to write this Donna/Jason one, but I just felt weird and itchy all over. Fic is way harder to write than generic porn - you have to have, like, competent characterisation and a semi-plausible premise and everything!

Oh I've ficced in my time... I can be a right randy little ficcer when the mood takes me. I did write something vaguely akin to a sex scene in one, but not really, as it featured the Corinthian and a victim, so the usual rules did not apply and I wanted to go and shower with a brillo pad and bleach to get rid of the absolute unpleasantness I could feel the scene generating whenever I wrote. I was pleased that people's reaction to it was horror and disgust (but for the scene, not the writing), because that's what I was aiming for, but it freaked me out I actually COULD write something like that and I don't think I want to do that again.

I do approve of your footnote idea, and of course, with Dick's social network being interplanetary in scale. there are a near infinite number of pairings and combinations it would work with without the reader feeling any sort of disconnect! :)

	...so now we need an excuse to use the Robins to explain why there are too many hands and limbs visible in this pron scene. And yeah, writing porn is tricky.
