I think the reason why it gets a lot of praise is the fact that Bendis has been able to, outside of a few bummer arcs, consistently solid and interesting for over 10 years. That's why I really can't shit on Bendis that much--yeah, his event comics aren't the greatest, but no one can deny he can pull out some great work, IMO.
