So he's going to look like a ginger Sawyer from Lost in this arc, apparently. I'm hoping against hope that Bruce actually answers Jason's questions about death sincerely, and then they bond by reminiscing about the process of resurrection. :D

Date: 2011-05-18 12:10 pm (UTC)And I don't think Morrison was saying that Jason was ugly and lame. My equivalent would be an arc where Selina's involved in a really high-stress heist, and she complains about the bags under her eyes and her skin breaking out and so on.
I just don't get what exactly about Morrison's take was so demeaning.

I was touched by Morrison's take, but honestly, I found it demeaning because his Jason seemed completely out of touch with reality, bordering on delusional. I've always though of Jason as someone whose views are distorted by emotional thinking, but still a sharp cookie.
Morrison's Jason is sympathetic at least (although I was never sure if I was intended to feel sympathy for him or just contempt) but terribly, terribly silly. It was a very undignified appearance, and I felt it gave fuel to scores of haters who already find him a ridiculous character.
