The new Spirit of Vengeance has taken on The Serpent's first avatar, SIN and held her own in battle. Meanwhile, Johnny Blaze is shown a vision of the future that confirms his worst fears regarding the new Ghost Rider. Can he take on his successor armed only with a shotgun and a really cool old-school motorbike?

Well Johnny and Danny have always pretty much been flesh and blood guys with flaming skulls. Although the low cut top is a bit much.

Well, given that the art from yesterday seemed to show her in full skeletal form, minus the hair and eyes and so on and covered in red flame...perhaps the above is merely her in mid-transformation.

I'm sorry, but I hadn't heard about this, and the first thing I thought when I saw the picture was, "Oh, fuck me." And not in the come-on-let's-do-it-baby way. What in the ratzin fratzin...?

The boobs thing doesn't bother me--Ghost Rider as a man always looked semi-flesh and blood with his clothes, having the Hellfire burn around him to sort of make the muscles. I think one can easily put that for here as to why she still has boobs. I do wish that we could see a little bit of fire around there, if not just for the sheer purpose of looking awesome.

The hair thing is really odd, though.

Same here. The boobs are in keeping with how Ghost Riders have always been. But that hair is ridiculous.

The hair is stupid, thats all there is to it.

My biggest problem though is that hinged sword thing she's holding. What the frell is that thing?

It's a hand scythe, and that's not a hinge, it's a fixed joint. The bit below is the handle and shaft, the bit above is the blade.

Why does she have hair? Why does she have breasts? Why is she wearing a low-cut top?

It sounds like, for all intents and purposes, Johnny will still be the star of the book, and the new Ghost Rider may even be temporary.

Well, it seemed in the past that the Ghost Rider was flesh and blood under his clothes, but there was an issue where Ghost Rider took off his gloves to punch a foe with his Flaming Skeleton Hands!

The issue *might* have been that WOLVERINE/PUNISHER/GHOST RIDER one-shot by John Romita, Jr, but I'm not positive.

Weirdly, what bothers me most about this is that Johnny "gives up" the Ghost Rider to whoever this is. When kinda the whole point for almost 30 years has been that he *can't* just "give up" the Ghost Rider.

Long hair AND boobs. And not just boobs! Boobs we can see, because that is the most sensible thing to do when you are traveling at high speeds on abrasive surfaces: get your flesh out.

Fuck, and last night I was actually feeling excited and keen about a lady Ghost Rider. But if they fail me triply here, why float any hopes?

I actually really like this design. A beautiful woman's body that bursts into flames at the neck, her bare skull floating in the middle of that fire, hair raggedly attached to the very bone? It's a beautifully disturbing concept, there's genuine terror there.

Pity that I don't think that's what they actually intended.

Okay, everyone seems to be complaining about the specifics of the design. I'm not saying they're unjustified, but my first impression was...

HOLY SHIT THAT IS ONE OF THE MOST INTIMIDATING THINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN A COMIC BOOK EVER.
