I have to say, the news of the DC reboot really depresses me. I was so excited for some issues coming out in the next  couple of months, like that Batman & Robin issue in France. Now, it just seems like it doesn't even matter anymore.

Whenever I think about what is wrong in comics, I'm drawn to books that recognize these flaws and try to make them right. I think we of scans_daily, while sometimes disagreeing, have a general "taste" in comic books. Most of us like books like Batgirl or Thor: The Mighty Avenger, for example.

Atomic Robo is one of those books. The creators KNOW what is wrong in comics, and are sworn to fix them/not do them. So, I will post some Atomic Robo now, because that book NEEDS love, and we need to show that comics industry that no, we do not put up with your bullshit, and instead our money will go to good books until you get your act together.

About Atomic Robo:
A celebrity scientist robot built by Nikola Tesla. He goes on adventures exploring fringe science and other stuff. He also sometimes works for the military, reluctantly. It is like Hellboy, but with science and jokes and concentrated awesome. The fifth volume recently ended, but the first four are available as trades. I highly recommend them.

From Free Comic Book Day 2011. He is about to judge a science fair when one of his foes, Dr. Dinosaur (who is a dinosaur) shows up.

"Who is Tom Baker?"

Now that, as a grumpy old squirrel used to say, is comedy.

I like Brian Cleavinger's work, but I don't particularly like him, I have no idea why anyone in their right mind would defend Tim Buckley (I think Ryan Sohmer does too, but I'm not sure) but he does.

My goodness, that's charming as hell. Is the whole series like that? Why am I not reading it?

Never really liked Atomic Robo. It just wasn't funny to me, and that cartoony art style looks like a bad webcomic(which, considering where it started, I guess that's to be expected).

Thor: Mighty Avenger won me over though, too bad that series is dead :/

Btw, does anyone know a place online that sells FCBD comics? Because I was unable to get, well, almost any of them, and the usual suspects I go to don't seem to have ones like this and the Thor the Mighty Avenger/Captain America comic.
