The second arc Cass has on Batman & the Outsiders.

So Rex is stuck in space (on a space station with huge laser cannon and a ton of O.M.A.C.s to be more specific). How do the Outsiders rescue their comrade? By breaking into another complex this time in China.







Next issue Cass sneaks around the base.






Aw... I kind of wish this scene was increased. To see Cass's reaction to Katana's plea, but that's all we get. So at the end of #7 Ollie, Katana, and Grace get lined up to be executed via firing squad. Who will save our heroes?






Nightwing, Thunder, and Remac then arrive to even the odds and save the day. I'm not gonna post that since the fight is throughout most of the issue. Cass really doesn't do much other than this for the remainder of the issue. So instead I'll post the next issue with her scenes in that:




Okay I just had to post that just for Rex in the Waldo get-up. Later in the issue Katana and Cass share another moment together:



This is the last moment the two share and I kind of wished someone would have expanded on this relationship. Dixon lasts two more issues before he leaves the book. Frank Tieri doesn't expand on this and Tomasi just ignores Cass all together when he takes over the book.

As for Lopez, this was his final issue on the book actually. I have to say, he drew a really good Cass. He was one of the few artists who drew her mask real well and was one of the few who actually drew her with scars.

Back to Dixon, I won't post his last two issues since they really don't go anywhere. Seriously, he re-introduces the aliens from Bloodlines and has Batman fighting one then rides off with it. That's how he has Batman exit the book. Then Cass becomes team leader and then everyone up and quits after she makes a tiny mistake. Really that's just Tieri just setting up for Tomasi's run later on. I am going to post the Frank Tieri fill-in run just because it's sort of a second Cass mini only with Batman & the Outsiders titled. It sets the character up for Battle for the Cowl (as well the new Azrael) and finishes up the final plot thread of Beechen's mini: namely Dick vs Cass.
