Yup. Should have seen it coming, with around a year until the next part of Nolan's Batman trilogy on the way, we have now seen the unveilling of... VIRAL VIDEOS!

They seem to be about an outbreak at Arkham and fires spreading across the city whilst some people appear to be chanting Bane's name.

Here is the facebook address they were showing off,

And I've collected the rest... I think, here,

And for the legalities, here is Bane,

Sound so cool, but I cannot make out the chanting at all.

Would make sense, and I couldn't tell you any different. MAkes sense about the mask and clothes, too. Make him a twisted Luchadore. WHich could be either ridiculous or played out well.

Definitely sounds like something "espada", I can't tell the first syllable. Maybe "diyes"? I'm not sure if I'm spelling that right, but that would mean, if it was "diyes espada", it'd be "ten swords".
Spada means sword, so it could make sense.

.... It is Batman is very unlikely, as is Sparta XD

"Bane is rising!"

Well, the twitter hashtag that was used to bring about the initial Bane image was "the fire rises." Any chance it could be that?

is probably my favourite of those, it's just such a surreal mental image! :)

I swear, spanish is my native language, and I barely hear some of those. I need to check my ears...

It's one word, heavily edited, echoes and made to sound like political propoganda.

then shortened to "...-para".

then repeated to again "-ra, -ra."

Literally dispara means "to fire", the order of an execution squad commander telling his troops to kill."ready, aim, FIRE!"

It's all a Spanish play on words, as "the fire rises" in Spanish slang means "the killing never stops."
"Dispara para rara."

It's the chant of a latin government death squad.

Well that makes much more sense.

So Nolan might be more sensitive to Bane's heritage than we thought! And possibly painting Bane as the darker equivalent of Batman, striking out mercilessly against death squads.

That's one way to look at it. I like to think of another idea. It's more like "the summoning of their executioners". A call to arms, of sorts. A one man death squad.

Sort of like the old Greek idea = one crisis, one Spartan. But instead of solving social unrest, this one soldier starts it.

I pray to God in heaven that you are 100% correct, because the sheer awesomness of that is making me tingle. That would make for a crazy intense movie.

Hauntingly cool.

Although why are people chanting his name is Spanish, though? I thought they made him white in the movie?

Spanish speaking people can still be white

I've heard conflicting reports that this is fake and that it's not. Either way, this stuff is always fun to follow.

Yeah. If I remember correctly, wasn't The Dark Knight filmed in Chicago? Would make sense if they hadn't made custom vehicles just for a teaser. Have they even started filming yet?

Around the time these videos started they were filming in India, as I recall. I think they might be moving to Pittsburgh for this one, though--less expensive to shoot, that kinda thing.

I doubt Nolan would've put these together himself, and if they don't need Bale or any of the others for them, it would be simple enough to put together a shooting team with specific instructions.

They do seem rather professional for a fan-made job, but then.. So does Marble Hornets, so.. Yeah.

The clip of a naked muscly guy in prison that people are saying is a glimpse of Bane is actually a scene from BRONSON, so yeah, fake.

When the audio is put into a visualizer that shows the wave pattern, it has a twitter address inside; #thefirerises.

Possible they're trolling you?

I mean the twitter thing is legit, and it sends out that teaser pic of Bane to everyone. Supposedly some of the films cast, notably Joseph Gordon-Levitt, were some of the first to follow said Twitter.

Are you arguing the legitimacy of a YouTube channel based off what Twitter says?

Skynet's gone too far!

For the record, I didn't contact him, I got that image off a message board.

And yes, the twitter is legit, but unless it links to the youtube channel, it doesn't prove anything either way. And all it's been doing is spamming the link to the Bane image to anyone who uses thefirerises hashtag.

"And yes, the twitter is legit, but unless it links to the youtube channel, it doesn't prove anything either way."

On one hand, I can see your point--but isn't the whole point about these things is to have people search around for this stuff? Besides, I would think that WB would make sure to get "The Fire Rises" on every social network" just to make sure that something like a fake wouldn't happen.

Not really. If it's a sustained ARG like the last time, there are going to be dozens of noteworthy names, phrases, etc, dropped along the course of the game. It would be prohibitively time consuming to register all of them across all major social networking sites just in case. And it's easy to separate real from fake: only link to real sites, done.

With the chanting all I hear is "Schick Quattro" like the razor. I know this isn't it, but eh.
