I'm still not completely sold on the sparkly green costume, but the ring constructs are looking fun!

Spoilers for images and plot points!

Nice namecheck there! :)

And it has to be said, this NEVER sounds as hokey as it probably should, because it's just THAT DAMN COOL!

And for egality, what the cloudy skull monster thingie looks like in the comics

It does work a bit more into convincing me to go see it. Doesn't look to me as focused as the Marvel movies, but still seems like a good one.

A SHAME YOU KILLED MOGO THEN DC!

I'm keeping my money for myself.

She's a pretty girl and her body is on point, but I wish she'd have some sort of expression on her face apart from the slack jawed default.

I might see Green Lantern, but it isn't really convincing me.

Tell me about it. In one trailer, Hal and Carol seem to be in danger or something, and her expression is just... blank.
The movie looks convincing to me, but I understand your point.

im a little annoyed by Hal's cocky-ness.... and really using his wing mate (female or not) as a DECOY... ugh....that is arrogant and cocky and ugH! i hope Carol slaps some sense into him!

Hal's constructs... reminds me of Kyle, just like he mentions "The power of Grayskull"
Still, it's actually convincing me. I might actually get to see it.

From: [personal profile] darkknightjrk
I don't think the constructs are uniquely Kyle...Kyle's constructs have been either antrhomorphically cartoony or complex mecha--he'll create a massive gun that would make Liefeld shit himself, or catch something with a mitt that's attached to a cartoon young boy who can talk.

Hal's constructs have always had a more human household effect, which they seem to replace with "common human tools and some of our big-ass weapons."

Should'nt Paralax be yellow?
And not be the smoke monster from lost?

By the way.
I'm I the only one tired of seeing that effect in a lot of movies?
it's in deferent texture but it's still the same.
from the trailers it will be used in Transformer 3 and Super 8.

*lol* Parallax. I will never be able to take that seriously. Well, at least he's using his ring creatively. That counts for much.

But, pray tell, how does one become a Xenobiologist exactly, if this is the only alien they have ever encountered..? Hammond might as well have majored in speculative fiction.

This is the first time they've made Carol Ferris a pilot as well, I take it? Even though she runs an airplane company, it was never clear if she could fly planes or just design and build them. (That is what Ferris Aircraft does, right?). Her Wikipedia entry says she knows how to fly, but that doesn't exactly say she can handle a Jet Fighter like Hal.

I still see Wade Wilson with a ring. Ok, ok, no more Nathan Fillion talk, I promise.

Highball/Sapphire OTP.

Now I'm torn, I want a movie for Wonder Woman with John next, but I also want Hal to go a few rounds with Star Sapphire. Ok, then John vs. Sinestro after that. And then Guy gets his own movie. And, of course, I'll be severely disappointed, so I'll go ahead and throw a JLI movie on top of that wish list, what the hell.

.... I am not anymore impressed by the CGI suit now than I was however many months ago when they first released the images. It looks better in the full CGI environments, but on Earth with the action scenes it just looks so cheesy. It's not terrible CGI in general, but I still wish they'd bothered to use an actual suit.

I wonder what the cost comparisons are to use CGI over actual props and hand-made suits?

Yeah, the constructs are something I'm REALLY looking forward to--not only do they fit the comics, but some of them actually go in interesting directions I don't think the comics ever did. One clip I saw had Kilowag training Hal by throwing a construct DWARF STAR out and seeing if Hal can find a way not to get sucked in.

Tom as Mission Control -- I love that!

After all these previews and trailers, I feel as if I’ve seen the whole movie, and all that I need to do is shuffle the “cards” into the proper order. Nonetheless, I have my tickets for opening day in the 2-D theater (I’m getting too old for 3-D, my trifocals just can’t handle it). Been waiting for this movie since I read my first comics in the town barbershop during the early Silver Age.

I’m wondering about the limited invulnerability field after watching the first clip. Enough to keep a Lantern from whatever nasty thing happens when a human body is exposed to the vacuum of space, but not sufficiently well padded to prevent “road rash“?

Yes, the oath still stirs me…each and every time.

...... I don't really like the effects... Of the green lanterns, anyway. Paralax looks pretty awesome.

I know and very much appreciate the difficulty of creating such effects but it seems like... well we've seen better.

And Screamy as Hal is so odd.

But damn that oath will never stop being awesome, especially when preceded by Toy Story and He-man references.

It will always amuse me they chose a comedic actor to play a character who for forty-years, was DC's token Straight-Laced Conservative.

Also, I so hate that costume. Why couldn't they just lift the outfits from the animated movies whole sale? Those look a hell of a lot better.
