Green Lantern movie clips
I'm still not completely sold on the sparkly green costume, but the ring constructs are looking fun!
Spoilers for images and plot points!
Nice namecheck there! :)
And it has to be said, this NEVER sounds as hokey as it probably should, because it's just THAT DAMN COOL!
And for egality, what the cloudy skull monster thingie looks like in the comics

Blake Lively!
I might see Green Lantern, but it isn't really convincing me.
Re: Blake Lively!
The movie looks convincing to me, but I understand your point.

Still, it's actually convincing me. I might actually get to see it.

Hal's constructs have always had a more human household effect, which they seem to replace with "common human tools and some of our big-ass weapons."

And not be the smoke monster from lost?
By the way.
I'm I the only one tired of seeing that effect in a lot of movies?
it's in deferent texture but it's still the same.
from the trailers it will be used in Transformer 3 and Super 8.

Though I agree that "smoke as destructive solid" does seem to be being overplayed this summer.

But, pray tell, how does one become a Xenobiologist exactly, if this is the only alien they have ever encountered..? Hammond might as well have majored in speculative fiction.

IIRC (and I may well not) xenobiology also deals with the theoretical aspects of the search for and possible nature of life developed in non-earth environments.

"To do Green Lantern constructs."
*hands shoot up*
...Comic!Lax's tonsils could pass for a Lantern logo. ETA: Oh. Apparently it does pass... for the YL logo, according to Wikipedia... go fig.

Highball/Sapphire OTP.
Now I'm torn, I want a movie
for Wonder Womanwith John next, but I also want Hal to go a few rounds with Star Sapphire. Ok, then John vs. Sinestro after that. And then Guy gets his own movie. And, of course, I'll be severely disappointed, so I'll go ahead and throw a JLI movie on top of that wish list, what the hell.no subject
I wonder what the cost comparisons are to use CGI over actual props and hand-made suits?

Sinestro has gained mine approval.

I like the alien designs but the rest looks sub-par.
And I liked the oath scene....when I saw it in Spider-Man 1.

After all these previews and trailers, I feel as if I’ve seen the whole movie, and all that I need to do is shuffle the “cards” into the proper order. Nonetheless, I have my tickets for opening day in the 2-D theater (I’m getting too old for 3-D, my trifocals just can’t handle it). Been waiting for this movie since I read my first comics in the town barbershop during the early Silver Age.
I’m wondering about the limited invulnerability field after watching the first clip. Enough to keep a Lantern from whatever nasty thing happens when a human body is exposed to the vacuum of space, but not sufficiently well padded to prevent “road rash“?
Yes, the oath still stirs me…each and every time.

I know and very much appreciate the difficulty of creating such effects but it seems like... well we've seen better.
And Screamy as Hal is so odd.
But damn that oath will never stop being awesome, especially when preceded by Toy Story and He-man references.

Also, I so hate that costume. Why couldn't they just lift the outfits from the animated movies whole sale? Those look a hell of a lot better.
