...wtf is with the left leg?! (Or, you know, most of him, but...seriously!)

I actually find this cover sloppy. There's no flow to the placement of the images, the colors are dull, and Bart and Jay just seem randomly tacked on. Also, anatomy fail! Did someone create a "nothing works that way" tag yet for S_D 2.0?

anatomy fail
I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and saying Black Flash's anatomy is deliberately distorted.

I was wondering if they were going for a satyr-leg or something, but he's not like that on the other cover.

We can't see the part of the other leg that would who if both are satyr like.

And note the two toed feet.

I meant the other cover, which has both of his feet on it. And they are both normal.

Ooops! I fail at reading.

Guess we'll know for sure when we see some interior art.

I don't really have a problem with the skeleton being all warped and deformed (if they decide to do it consistently), but the anatomy is still kind of wonky anyways, even when you take perspective into account.

Just a hunch, buuuuuut I think Geoff Johns will be able to work out the Blackest Night connections.

I think it's fine because I don't think anything you are seeing is supposed to make a great deal of sense. It's all reality fracture sort of imagery I think. Not quite a surrealist piece but I think they were trying for something similar.

At least the colorist got Bart's hair color right.

That's not anatomy fail, it's a deliberate distortion of the body for the monstrous effect. Compare creepy Barry to the other characters and it's obvious. I have some issues with EVS's art but anatomy isn't one of them.

Are you new to covers? It means that Barry thinks he's a monster, not that he's going to actually look like that in the comic.
