Xavier the Lover
Jun. 9th, 2011 12:46 pmIt has come to mine attention that Charles Francis Xavier (Professor X) really has a big heart considering the amount of lovers he has collected over the years and that "X-Men : First Class" was a success (I went to see it last Sunday and I enjoyed the experience). Today, because of the facts already mentioned, I will provide you with a post regarding some of Xavier's lovers (I will not include Lilandra because that would take several posts).
First of all, mine dear audience, we have the late Doctor Moira Kinross-MacTaggert.

She was Xavier's first greatest love as well as a woman who shared Xavier's interests on Genetics. They were young and consumed by love (they even planned to get married) but a double tragedy would strike them : Xavier was drafted to the war at Korea and she was forced to marry an unloving and violent man (Proteus' Father). Xavier and Moira would meet each other again years later but they decided to remain as friends as well as uniting their research on mutants. I wonder what would have happened if they hadn't been separated.

Next we have mine least favorite Xavier's lover, Gabrielle Haller (I truly can't stand her, as well as her son Legion, but I won't start to whine about it and continue with this post).

She was one comatose woman that Xavier saved from the clutches of Baron Strucker during Xavier's stay at Israel (Xavier would also meet Magneto there). They had a brief romance and she got pregnant (without telling Xavier). I don't think she has appeared much with the exception of her loony son, the mutant known as Legion.
Xavier's love would never give up and that leads us to our next subject, the nurse known as Amelia Voght (I am going to post more pictures of her because I consider her an interesting character and because it would help this post).

Xavier had lost all the sensibility he had on his legs after fighting the alien known as Lucifer. Xavier was sent to India to recover from his injuries and that's where he would meet a nurse named Amelia Voght. She would help him regain his confidence and force of will as well as developing the Florence Nightingale's Syndrome (that's what happens when nurses fall in love with their patients).

Amelia would later discover that her darling was doing some research on mutants and she got really angry because she was also a mutant as well as thinking that Xavier planned to exterminate mutants. Xavier would reveal himself as a mutant to Amelia and their love would become stronger.

Amelia and Xavier would meet Magneto in Auschwitz (where Magneto and Xavier would confess their love for each other and...oops, wrong story, what I meant to say is that this is where Magneto would declare his war on all the humanity as well as having one of those classic philosophical battles with his old friend) and would later return to the United States and it was there that Xavier would start to gather the original members of his X-Men. Amelia loved Xavier and that is why she remained with him to guide all the young mutants they were finding but in the end she was starting to worry about Xavier's plan to use his X-Men as some kind of super-heroes (I would like to see Amelia appear on one of the future sequels of this new franchise of the X-Men considering that she looks promising). She would later made her mind about this situation.

Xavier had lost again one of his lovers but he still had his X-Men (as well as Magneto) to give him company. In case you are wondering, Amelia would later join Magneto's Acolytes. Love would have to return to Xavier eventually in the likes of a Shi'ar Queen known as Lilandra but for now he had a Dream and his love for his X-Men, those elements would be enough for him.

Well, mine dear audience, that's it for today. I will reward you with an animated gif I just created (regarding Xavier and his many Lovers) by using some pictures from the hilarious webcomic named "Comics, Everybody!" by Curt Franklin and Chris Haley. I hope you like it.

Au Revoir.

Date: 2011-06-09 08:11 pm (UTC)- He once mindwiped Moira in order to erase all knowledge of the group of mutants that went to Krakoa before the All New X-Men.
- Xavier tried to manipulate Amelia into staying with him once she decided to leave Xavier's mansion. I should have posted such scene but I think the scene where she simply leaves was a more powerful moment (at least in mine opinion).
I think there are some more cases but I really don't remember all of them.

Date: 2011-06-10 06:01 pm (UTC)Yes, this one is the idealized memory of their parting. For one of the most powerful minds on the planet Mr Xavier's memory lies to itself quite a lot.
Also after reading this story I've always had hard time figuring why she ever became an Acolyte. While she was angry with Xavier she seemed diametrically opposed to the whole idea of mutant teams... while having been already written into being as part of one. Did they even try to explain it coherently?
