okay... i have to admit... the play looks super cheezey at times... but i REALLY want to see it... i mean its a broadway musical about spider-man... of course its going to be sorta cheezy. but the green goblin singing about the freaks being out in new york city with backup dancers dressed up like other spidey villains... YES!
I have to admit I liked the Rise Above song, but what is up with that Spider-Lady? and the villain sequence, I was in between loving GG's voice and been amused by the Spidey villains dancing. Also I burst out laughing when I saw Lizard and Kraven.
And I want that Spider-jacket that appears after 4:27
Yeah I would so totally see this, even if from what I heard the story sucks (should have gotten a good Spidey writer to do the plot).
Archane--she's some sort of Spider-God thing that's semi-responsible for setting the spider that bites Peter to it's path. Holdover from the Taymor stuff--in that she was a semi-villain, but apparently now she's more of an avatar for Peter's conscience.
Hey, at least they're willing to laugh at themselves with that "65 million dollar tragedy" line.
As a huge Broadway fan, though, I have to say I've yet to hear a song from this thing that makes me want to go buy the rest of the soundtrack. (If anything, they tend to prompt a re-listen to Dr. Horrible.)
Seriously. I have yet to see anything in these trailers or clips that explains the show cost. Norman Osborn didn't blow 65 million on the Thunderbolts.
That looks insanely cool. God, I wish they hadn't canceled when we were gonna watch a Broadway musical. Still though, I don't regret Billy Elliot, which actually also had aerial acrobatics.
Oh man! I've been following the train-wreck as reported on Topless Robot for months now, and now I can't help but lol my head off every time it's mentioned :D
Well the musical looks like it would be a lot of fun to watch, both intentionally and unintentionally. Some of the songs seem a little bland to me, but I quite like Rise Above. That Aunt May page is hilarious. It's the experessions from the security guards that make it.

Date: 2011-06-12 12:39 am (UTC)What? It's not bad ok? That and I like the last song in this trailer...along with that Spider-Man jacket, I want one.
Also during that...idk Green Goblin? Vulture? song, did anyone else scream when they saw Carnage for the mere fact that the mask looked horrible?
