This is not a particularly good story. At all.

If you've looked at this post, you know that Wonder Woman and Aquaman were planning to get married. However, there were people who didn't support the marriage.

During the wedding, Hippolyta spots someone suspicious before being killed with a spear.

Garth is then framed for the murder and killed, with the Amazons demanding that all of the other Atlanteans leave.

The dark-haired woman is Penthesilea, who is Hippolyta's sister. Artemis is her champion. According to comicvine, she has never appeared as a DC character before. She does have a wikipedia page, which establishes that she accidentally killed her sister, Hippolyta, during a hunting match. So that's quite apt, even if the mythological Penthesilea fought in the Trojan War because she was so full of grief that she wished to die in battle after killing her sister. This version isn't quite as fond of Polly, apparently.

I still don't really see how this is supposed to make Diana evil. Her mother died in the main continuity without her choosing to slaughter anyone, even the person responsible for Hippolyta's death.

hmm you do have a point, it should also mean that Hippolyta's sister shouldn't be alive though doesn't it? as she would not have the island's magical immortality though doens't it?

well in normal continuity she isn't alive, and in this continuity isn't she on the island?

yeah could be that Artemis is a "Family Name" passed down from generation. Or they were exiled, but came back... oy... time travel... wibbly wobbly?

This seems to be a different sister of Hippolyta. The sister who left to start the Bana was Antiope, not Penthesilea.

And like sailorlibra said Penthesilea has never even been mentioned in DC comics before.
