Gates of Gotham #2
Jun. 22nd, 2011 12:34 pmThe meeting you've waited for has arrived. Three page scans under the cut.

It's sort of interesting though how Damian refers to Cass as the Black Bat and not her time as Batgirl. I wonder if this anything to do with the revamp? Probably not just him using her current name.
So we get a nice little banter between Cass and Tim about the demon spawn:

And yeah there's another great Cass moment in this too. But I think I'll let another post that or you can get it yourself. Gates of Gotham pretty much is delivering in a great story. Dick looks like to be in good hands come Sept.
I still kind of wish this was sort of an ongoing event. Seeing Bruce's kids (save for Jason) work together on something is just a sight to behold.

You're right, Damian's totally read her wrong because he doesn't know that. I guess he's gotten so used to everyone working for Batman being chipper/sociable/talkative, that Cass must come off as a bit of shock. All he knows is a summary of her violent background, so since she' hasn't turned out like the rest of the heroes, he's assuming she's like the assassins (who are probably very competitive, stoic, archaic and arrogant). When the reality is she is like neither.
lol, poor Cass (and to some degree poor Damian, lol...), it's just an unfortunate misunderstanding.
damn, I love this kind of writing and wish we could see more of it or at least see it explored more. At face value it looks simple, but it's totally not. I hope the writer goes more in depth or at least have these characters come to an understanding at least. (i'm probably wishing for too much...T-T )
