Because the Universe doesn't revolve around Roy and it looks like this reboot is going to be screwing over a lot of other characters?

Because the reboot's not going to fix him. He's in a book called the OUTLAWS, ffs. Teaming with Jason "Just Kill Them" Todd. So, he seems to have his arm back.

Barbara Gordon seems to have her legs back, and everyone's upset about that.

The comments about Jason in Outlaws actually make me a little more interested, since the writer is determined that Jason is NOT going to be obsessing over the Batclan the way he pretty much has been shown to be doing since his return, and will be seeking, of not redemption, at last some form of life beyond "I love/hate my dad and my sorta-siblings. Grrrrr!"

Not sure I'll pick it up, but.....

This. I've waited for years to see him written as a character in his own right, and not just a badly handled recurring plot device used to liven things up for the Batfamily.

I got a taste of that recently in Lost Days, and I'm very keen for more.

Of course, a lot of fans whined that Lost Days didn't have all that much to do with Gotham or Bruce at aaaaaallll. Which is a valid problem. I mean, there's just not *enough* Bruce-centric material out there. >_<

There was whining about that? That was one of the more enjoyable things about the mini. And there were tons of enjoyable things about the mini! If they wanted Bruce so bad, then they could've picked up almost any other book on the shelves.

Well, when I said 'fans' I really meant 'haters.' And there's quite a lot of them on cbr :D

The other common complaint was "I can already more or less guess which direction this *prequel* is headed in."

Lost Days being Bruce-centric I can sort of see, since he would be the thing that was uppermost in the parts of Jason's mind that were in more or less the same place as they were pre-Joker retro-phrenology session.

As it's the offshoot of the Heroes bar (Like in The Tick) it might be more "Those who have never really been solo heroes or are perpetually linked to another character/team"

Yeah, it's pretty much just a collection of "Let's hire good artists to draw a timely reference to current comics happenings." But the writing is all set up and no punchline.

When there are punchlines, they're just more obvious jokes, or even references to things that have happened.

It's like Peter Kay, minus the ability to tell a story.

Or the frequent cushioning of comforting nostalgia. "Remember things? From the past? Remember when we used to have them? Not like the other things we have in the present, oh no."

Every time I see the Gutters logo, I get reminded of the Zatanna strip or the rainbow Hulk strip and it just pisses me off. That kinda kills my general enjoyment of the comic, even when there are funny jokes. (The Scooby Doo/Green Lantern corp one, for example.)

I still can't figure out what the punchline to the Zatanna one was. She appears out of thin air, announces who she is, and Batman thinks she's a stripper? Where's the joke?
