The New Mutants summarise their new mission statement of "We clear up the shit other writers left behind/which the X-Men messed up" "Unfinished Business" as they search for Nate "X-Man" Grey... and Doug makes a discovery...






I should add that that IS Victoria Hand in the background and she is her usual charming self (One is almost nostalgic for Gyrich)

If t makes you feel better, Doug definitely appears to either A) have aged whilst dead or B) reprogrammed the TO virus which rebuilt his decayed dead body to age himself a little or C) the spell that was used to revive him produced him at the age that he would be now, subtracted from his date of birth.

I still miss the innocent "Gee wow!" Doug, since he always seems to be wandering around in a slightly spaced out, not very emotional or connected manner.

Yeah, I had the feeling that the New Mutants should be around their early, MAYBE mid-20s, but I don't know--honestly, X-Men age ranges are harder to figure out than the Bat-Family's.

Not helped by them starting out so varied in age; Rahne was 13 when she first appeared, 'Berto was 14, and at the same time Sam was at least 17 (He'd left school and been working down a mine to support his family since his father died) and Xi'an was a legal adult so 18+. Dani, Ilyanna (already confused by aging in limbo from 5 on), Amara and Doug were, as usual in such cases vaguely 16 or so.

Kitty was pretty much the same age as Doug and Dani, and she's what, right about 20 now? (and would probably have been a bit older if not for writers trying to wring her back from her time with Wisdom)

the way they're describing his abilities now he's sort of still "Gee Wow!" Doug, except now he's wowing at every thing so he never has time to express his interest in any one thing.

At least that's how it reads to me, because every time you get some sort of monologue with him it's all about how much is going on around him

Good point, hadn't quite thought of it that way before. It'd be nice if he could work out some way to share the wonder though. He seems less "fascinated" and more "spaced out" a lot of the time.
