How Kid Flash got started

In the latest issue of YOUNG JUSTICE, Aqualad and Kid Flash tell their origins over campfire marshmallows and s'mores. Aqualad's is just an elaboration on what we were already told in the Atlantis episode, while Kid Flash's has an interesting divergence from his DC Universe origin.



We also get our first real look at Ocean Master's costume in this world.




When Wally West discovers Barry Allen's notes, he duplicates the experiment, too... to a very explosive result. The explosion hospitalizes him.

Well, it's a slightly more plausible than "Barry subconsciously caused another lightning bolt to hit Wally because he was so lonely." Mark Waid was the one who set up that idea right?

Heh, nice. I'm not sure I like Wally's new origin, and his personality being turned into Bart's.

(Then again, that looks like what's happening in the new Teen Titans too. Bleh!)

I like the idea that Barry went out a tried to duplicate the Golden Age Flash's accident.

I was hoping they'd try to work in the 'son of Manta' thing for Aqualad, but, alas, he's just another Atlantean. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, but there was something intriguing with most of the team having one 'parent' who was a bad guy.)

I wonder how Wally at that age would act with Bart... oh, and the rest of YJ meeting their actual comic book couterparts and such...
