I was thinking about Quicksilver in a wheelchair recently. Specifically the original "Days of Future's Past" storyline. The surviving X-Men in the "Mutant Detention Center" include one in a wheelchair, and it is supposed to be Magneto. Or was it going to be Quicksilver and they changed it to Magneto?

Not a big deal. Some years ago, I met Neal Adams at a comic convention and asked him if "Magneto without his helmet" was supposed to look like Quicksilver. He said yes.

In a further story in that setting, set back before the great escape and trip to past to save Senator Kelly, Magneto did get his back broken. It was pretty trippy, having Psylocke as part of the Hellfire Club, Amiko (Logan's adopted daughter who some writer should remember and have meet X-23) as a ninja for Japanese government, et cetera.
