flint_marko: (Black Adam & Isis)

The issue begins two weeks ago. Qurac is succeeding in their invasion of Kahndaq when Osiris and Isis get involved.

Osiris is pretty ruthless, and Isis tells him to restrain himself, because harming those weaker than them sends the wrong message. Osiris replies that it says one thing: "Get. Out. And stay out."

Isis thinks that she can see the bloodlust in Osiris's eyes, just like the first time he he lost control...

Okay, I can understand Isis being worried about Osiris, but really? There's nothing to suggest that Osiris would ever try harming Isis. And frankly, I don't think Black Adam would have a problem with Osiris's behavior here. And I'm sick of the Persuader's death being used as an example of Osiris's "bloodlust," when it was clear it was something that horrified him..

The Qurac army retreats, but Osiris kills them anyway.

In the present, Deathstroke gets the JLA to leave by telling them that his jet has a nuclear self-destruct system.

The Titans go to Kahndaq, where Osiris attacks Deathstroke for lying about bringing Black Adam back, but Deathstroke tells him he can still do it.

What does Deathstoke being a father have to do with anything?

The Titans battle the JLA.

Supergirl tells Osiris that Deathstroke is a mercenary, and that his loyalty can be bought. Osiris asks how much she charges, and she says "Wonder Girl was right. You're a real &#$@." Okay, Osiris is acting like an ass now, but the fact that Wonder Girl would call him one pisses me off. If you don't remember, in Titans #24 Osiris went to Wonder Girl for help in freeing Black Adam and Isis, and Wonder Girl told him that he had to turn himself in for killing the Persuader (despite the fact that she and Supergirl never turned themselves in for attacking the president's plane). Ugh.

Isis, who is watching the fight, says that it's threatening to destroy her city.

The JLA is forced to leave. Osiris tells Isis that he's proud of her, and that she proved herself a worthy queen. Isis says she agrees, "which is why I will govern Kahndaq from now on, not you, brother."

Deathstroke tells Osiris that the person who can resurrect Black Adam is waiting for them at the Labyrinth (the Titans' headquarters, if you've forgotten).

Earlier in the issue, we saw that Sivana has built a giant machine there called the Methuselah Device, which can "regenerate human cells on a microscopic level, restoring lost youth and vitality by temporarily arresting cellular degradation," and that "exposure to its effects allow a man to cheat death itself, indefinitely."

Deathstroke and the Titans show up, and Deathstroke gives Sivana a piece of Supergirl's bloody cape, which he got during the battle when he stabbed her in the back with a kryptonite knife. When Roy asks about it, Deathstoke tells him that the blood is going to save the life of someone very important to him: Jericho, who we see is dying.

I don't actually recall the specific circumstances that caused Shazam to whip Adam across the universe so far that it took millennia for him to fly back at the speed of Anpu with the stamina of Shu, but if it wasn't as bad as killing Bialya, then Shazam is a massive hypocrite and dick.

Umm as of... his return he IS a Massive hypocrite and dick.

he took away Billy and Mary's powers because they were corrupted by black adam, THEY didn't do anything wrong, Black Adam and Darkseid before him corrupted them. HE then went about trying to find FREDDY, (WHO did absolutely NOTHING to anyone) and take HIS powers for absolutely no reason..

I don't complain alot about DC, but they did totally screw with the Marvel Family STARTING with the Black Adam Family. They tried to play with the idea that Black Adam's power is inherantly evil, or "more archaic". Its strange. because in 52, they were playing with the idea that it was not the POWER that made Adam evil, but HIM. Even with Osiris' killing of Persuader, he had only JUST recently gotten his powers, he had not been in any REAL fight before, and his sister was in mortal danger. He reacted on instinct and accidentally killed some one. and for the most part, it was played straight, he was dealing with his doubts about whether his powers were good or evil, and then he was killed.

Now his powers ARE making him evil.

i will say this, at LEAST Isis is finally back to a version of the Isis i loved. she is being harsher than when she first started, but she has been through alot. at least she has her mercy back.
