Hmmm....

Have to say, I hope that there is more rendering to be done here, because the look of this leaves me pretty much completely cold.

Katie Cook's take on the Emotional Spectrum...

And how the Guardians, being the dickwads that they are, probably choose to recall the end of the last issue of Green Lantern

I think I would have preferred the 2D animation as well, although this doesn't look half as bad visually compared with what I was expecting. Still, the problem with 3D animation is that it tends to makes the scenery look very... empty. I don't know what it is. 2D doesn't seem to have the same problem in my mind.

Still, it might be worth watching, though I'm no Jordan fan.

I can see the empty thing--one thing I noticed was the smoke at the bottom of the planet when Hal is flying through Oa--it reminded me a lot of stuff in PS1 games when you were up high and if you went that low you'd die.

I like the voice work and i'm glad they actually gave Hal a personality. Their texturing work is damn damn lazy though.

Got some Incredible-itis. I love The Incredibles, but this is an odd choice for Green Lantern. Apart from that, I have to say I like the look of this - but then I hate all of the DC animated movies, New Frontier included. Just think the work they get from the Korean studios look's cheap and awkward - this looks a bit too smooth, but it's a step in the right direction.

I'm not sure how much water a claim like that holds these days, given the amount of TV animation IS actually CGI, just cel-shaded rather than fully rendered (take, for example, Futurama), and the likes of ReBoot, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Shadow Raiders, Transformers Cybertron, Transformers Prime and others, would beg to differ I feel.

I'm guessing it's a problem of budgets? If this GL was 15 years ago, I probably wouldn't be as critical.

I'm not going to knock 3D CGI on Television.

But I have to say, from this clip alone, all the Transformers' use of CGI even from the early years is in a league above this. While they did decently to well on TV, from images alone I'm not sure this will.

The is the kind of animated work I see on PBS preschoolers shows. If this is the finished product, the look created here will hurt the show more then help it. I'm really not sure why they did go with something more standard.

The voice acting seems top notch though, and this bit makes me hopeful for a good cast of characters.

Wow, this is actually looks shockingly good, I'm saying this as somebody who fails to find appeal in the entire concept of Green Lantern and have found every attempt I've made at getting into Green Lantern to be entirely unenjoyable. I might actually watch this.

The animation, while probably could still use some work, looks a lot better than what I've seen before, and everything else is pretty top-notch. I'll definitely check it out when it comes out on Cartoon Network. :D

The Bruce Timm art style translates to Hal Jordan in 3D pretty well, but I am not liking the backgrounds. It feels bare.

I was wondering today if the Green Lantern movie would have worked better as a series on HBO. Hal would get the ring at the end of the first episode, not get to Oa until the fourth, he fights Parallax is the season finale, etc. Maybe Hal Jordan has the kind of origin story that would work as a 10-13 episode season.

Of course, if there was a Green Lantern series on HBO, there would be a lot of on-screen... um, hanky-panky expected.

Not to be a whiner or scorned fan, but I'm still waiting for my Wondy cartoon. And video games. (DC can contact me for ideas and details if need be.)

Moving on topic, I don't know what to think of the cartoon. I would like it (the look I guess?) for something original (and maybe quirky), but this just... Hm. I don't know.

I do like those kitty!Lanterns though.

Hal is such a troll.
Personality, sure, but the animation seems... well, not great. If they're gonna present this to kids, they should just make it 2D. 3D doesn't work if you don't put a whole lot of work into it. (I feel like I should know this as an Animation major)

Also, I hate 3D in general for replacing 2D in the film industry. *shakes fist at 3D*
