Barbara was insensitive, but I think Bruce over reacted. Would it honestly be too difficult to have a Batman (Who isn't Dick Grayson) who instead of walking out after Babs apologises said something like "It's okay. My life hasn't been like most."?
It'd be nice to see Bruce develop some empathy towards his friends.

If he really walked about because of what she said, that kind of makes batman look I dont want to say childish...but he could have handled it better. I guess because I have never really been the type to get offended when people accidentally say more then they mean, or say something that could be offensive.

Honestly, I really didn't like how Horrocks wrote Bruce, much of the time. Or Barbara, for that matter.

I really don't think this is how she'd have reacted. I think she'd have said "Fine, you hated Alfred. Can we focus on Cassandra now?"

And for someone who lost both her parents at a young age, became Batgirl, AND was paralysed by one of Batman's worst foes, she turned very well adjusted and remained optimistic. Seriously, Bruce needs to grow up.

Also, Bruce might know about teens hating their parents because he's a parent. He and Dick definitely went through some rough times when Dick was about that age.

I feel bad for admitting this, but I seriously read this as "My parents deserved to DIIIIIIIIEEEE" for a minute there. Its probably because *this* image first came to mind:

If they're going to make Batman that emotionally broken, I think they should go all the way and have him constantly bring up his dead parents to anybody who will listen.

"Master Bruce, I made you waffles."

"You know who else made me waffles? My parents. On the night they were murdered in an alley."

Really, Batman's always been on flimsy ground with his temper tantrums considering that there are almost no superheroes ever who have two living parents or a trauma-free childhood. Heck, his buddy in blue tights lost his home planet and his entire species twice and doesn't feel the need to go whining about it at every opportunity.
