Greetings True Believers!

Ah, internet memes. One of the pillars of the internet, right up there with youtube and porn.

It's always fun when comic book versions surface.

If you've been on the interwebz in the last decade, you've seen a "haters gonna hate" picture. I've decided to post my favorite comic book versions of this meme.

Post your own if it pleases you.

Enjoy!

My favorite, superdickery!

A close second.

And the rest:

Not comics-related but for the lulz.

Yet, I think there are times when people do hate something for no reason. The hate for Twilight, for instance; I'd wager that most of the people slagging that franchise off have never even seen or read anything related to it and are just hopping on the bandwagon, and only a handful could actually pinpoint specifics about what they dislike.

Oh I'm sure there are many such times, I just don't think I'd feel confident enough to know the difference between the two at first glance, and dismissing what might be valid claims with a blanket "Haters gonna hate" doesn't seem much better than the hating which inspires it n the first place.... if that makes coherent sense at this time on a Saturday morning....

But... but girls like it! A lot! Because it has hot guys in it or something, idk, but it's totally gross and girly and panders to their base female desires.

Good, bad, or mediocre, we cannot allow such a thing to go unhated on.

I've seen all three films - against my will - and while they certainly aren't great, they are better than the average superhero film just for a start.

This is about right, regarding the films. I found the first one fairly decent, for what it was, but I hated New Moon. The third one actually had some teeth to it, though.

I never really got the line of thought that there's nothing for guys watching these films, though. It's not like Kristen Stewart or Ashley Greene are horrid to look at.

From a literature and story perspective Twilight just plain sucks. I have seen many, many, many better written fanfictions- some of them in its own fandom. But, as long as no one takes it seriously, I can forgive it because I have my own guilty pleasures.

For awesome, inspiring modern writing I go to Neil Gaiman or watch a Steven Moffat show (I am so excited about Tin Tin).

For me, "Atlas Shrugged" is the one to beat... I'm in no rush.

I love Rand because I think she tapped into one of the greatest truths about men - that, ostensibly, we're all in it for ourselves. That she recognized this and then turned it into a full blown philosophy as if it's a good thing is another matter entirely, however.

Her books at least summoned some manner of thinking regarding morality, though. Twilight just makes me think of badly written romance and incredibly squicky paedophelia.

The films are slightly more bearable than the books, if I'm being entirely honest. The first person nature of the books made them a major chore, for me, especially when you hit the idea that Bella is just a surrogate for the writer herself.

One of the main reasons I read Twilight is so I could be well-informed in my hatred. She is not a good writer.

Heh. Ditto that. I found them rather grounded in wish fulfillment and rather dubious fantasies, the films were a little better, but have done the disservice of rendering Kristen Stewart to be perceived as a poor actress.
