Well my recent attempt to post a mini-story involving Helena Wayne huntress was foiled (and by foiled I mean I can't read/understand the rules properly) so I will do what any sane man would do.

Post more scans of Chuck Austen in a vain and misappropriated attempt at vengeance.

Turns out Iceman can not only completely turn his body into ice but survive if broken apart so...he needs liquid

I know that's supposed to be Bobby's pain face after being blown up or whatever (seriously, what the fuck happened? My brain won't process that art), but...that's how anyone would look if they heard that someone was going to try to be saved with pee.

Yeah--being a lifeless head seems almost like the better way.

I mean...it's one thing to be forced into a golden shower...but what if your body was formed from it? Good God, you'd NEVER feel clean again. I have to imagine this is why we don't see Iceman all that often nowadays--he's taken to having five showers a day just to wash the pee out of his very being.

Actually, I can't see any reason why Bobby can't siphon off some water from everyone and reconsitute himself (no, Alex, you cannot piss a body's worth, otherwise you would be made entirely of bladder...hang on, that would explain a lot), so this isn't as stupid as, say, Wolverine eating his own arm. Just offensive.

Mainly it was the problem of Austen creating new powers for the x-men out of thin air.

A good example of this is Archangel and his healing blood.

Well, Bobby had been shattered before (though not as badly) and pulled himself back together with Emma's help, so I don't think it's really too bad. Archangel's blood though, EW EW EW! Don't drip your blood in people's mouths! Disgusting and dangerous! And the "mutants don't get AIDS" line was just random and stupid in that context. Also, disease risks and grossness aside, I wouldn't someone who had been altered by Apocalypse to be sharing bodily fluids with people.

Pretty sure that Iceman's rebuilding was just a part of him reaching Omega level. I can accept that, its actually not that bad and its handled pretty well. The healing blood... well I am not counting that as canonical.

"So yeah, Apocalypse dicked around with my genetics a crazy amount to make me the ultimate killing machine. But he left in my healing blood because it just fits the motif so well, you know?"

Yeah, I don't think anyone's problem is the mechanics of it, just that he would suggest it. I mean, Christ, is there NOT a running tap around or something?

A short story from a wondy comic. It's only 8 pages though so it really doesn't work... it was about her fighting a villain know as Lion mane.

In the last panel Iceman has been blown apart so Havok decides he can use his urine to help constitute a body for Iceman by having Bobby freeze the pee.

There's gotta be something about the moisture in the air something. I think even in dry climates, Bobby can create ice from his own breath. Not that the X-Men have ever been *too* concerned about the law of the conservation of matter.

Which really just kind of makes the whole thing stupid. I mean, why bring it up if it's not necessary?

A comic book only has 22 pages to tell its story. It bugs me to no end when creators waste space with something that adds neither dramatic nor comedic value to a story.

If Iceman shattered then the remaining bits of ice should still be around, or in water vapour form, both of which Bobby could access.

I liked Austen's X-Men. I came back into comics on his run and so I enjoyed it.

Iceman was totally suped up. Turning into an ice giant, covering himself with razor spikes. Why doesn't he do this anymore?

Plus, Husk was awesome and I enjoyed the development of Juggernaut (which I think is something most people find as the silver lining of the run).

Though I wish Jubilee had done... anything. Let's be honest, she wasn't the most useful X-Men since she kept her paffs from going out of control. Her only job was distraction. Even in the cartoon she couldn't take out anyone. I still love her, though.
