scans_dailyThe emergence of Crazy Quilt on next weekend's episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold sent me looking for Robin's first encounter with him.
That was in 1951, when the villainous artist appeared in Star-Spangled Comics, #123.
Not until 1979 did Len Wein establish that Crazy Quilt was more obsessed with Robin than with Batman. However, there was an early danger sign: Crazy Quilt sprayed Robin with a chemical that made his clothes shrink.
