I know that a previous poster has posted this solicit, but I had some things to say about it. For example, it's nice to see that Robinson's work in building up the DCU during his Mon-El comics hasn't gone to waste, with the return of his Von Hammer character, who I am curious about. Bete/Bette Noir I think'll be interesting also, if only for the unintentional amusement from a British semisupervillain and a French supervillain getting into a fight.

To be fair, that's presumably something which will have been explained two issues previously by this point.

I'm just hoping this isn't a return to Dick's old status as the "jobber" of the hero, there to look adequate, but to be taken down by all and sundry new/revived characters to show how badass they are.

Poor Dick.

I really wouldn't want to see Barbara take down Dick easily - if she does, it better take a while, and involve some serious strategy. She's always been a good fighter, but Dick's an acrobat who's trained under Batman since he was a kid, and learned from very skilled peers.

I wish people would remember that he's a formidable guy.

At first, I was going to say how James Robinson's love of obscure continuity seems like the sort of thing that wouldn't mesh well with a semi-rebooted continuity, but I suppose it wouldn't be any more awkward than referencing pre-Crisis stuff in post-Crisis stories, which Robinson did all the time.

Isn't Bete Noir that shadow-powered gorilla who appeared in the recent Eclipso story in JLA?
