They're toying with us, replacing the Elf we loved and mourned with a more damaged "hardened" version from another universe. It's an individual-level reboot.

And now we learn Cable's coming back as well.

I am getting so f*#$ing tired of these *dead for two years, now let's bring them back* stories. Who cares about death if it's only two years?

I hate to tell you this Marvel, but that's got my feet pointed to the door.

And welcome to where I was about ten years ago. Time to start picking up non-DC and Marvel stuff. Elephantmen, Invincible, Atomic Robo...yeah, I could list a whole lot.

Yeah, I'm about at that point too. I mean, I can accept this because as far as I know it hasn't been done before, and I think a lot of good story could come out of this one, but for Cable... I dont even think Cable is that popular. I never really liked him myself.

Meanwhile the Scarlet Witch returns and undoes the only major change to the status quo that has managed to persist. I definitely do not like the Scarlet Witch. Just nothing about her even works for me. Her personality doesn't quite fit, her powers make no sense (not really her fault), the way people treat her is off, it just doesn't work.

Wow, what a concept. A good story being used to sell a bad idea that shouldn't have been done in the first place. That would be sort of like Joe Camel!

Stories are just embellished ideas. You really can't make a good story if the central idea is bad.

I'm not saying the same is for this, of course, but it's completely reasonable for a person to dislike a story because the central idea is misguided or just plain bad.

Believe it or not, they've all (- AoANC) had some really impressive character development through the series. Deadpool especially has some really good stuff in there. I don't know if they could carry a series, but I think they have a chance.

This...doesnt sit right. bear in mind I'm a huge AoA fan, but I feel Kurt....is being shoehorned so they can have him around again. I dont like that idea.

It goes against what this universe's Kurt believed in, this isnt the Kurt the X-men love, this is a hardened atheist killer, who while similar, grew up in a different environment.

I'd have rather seen them bring back Sabretooth. That would be far far more interesting

Because they've tried 616 a few times and it always ends the same way. AOA would be an intriguing addition.

I still keep hopes of Hepzibah on this team. They bring her back from space. She's on an X-Team for four issues, then bam, nothing more than Warpath's never mentioned anymore girlfriend and a cameo on SWORD.

Hmmmm, I'm suddenly getting a plot bunny about a multi-dimensional talent recruiter who puts finds super heroes for major super teams. I'm thinking Exiles meets Jerry Maguire.

Im for it. Rick Remenber has been knocking it out of the park with X-Force. He's been doing a really good job of reminding us that Poccy is a guy with a couple or so dystopian alternate realities underneath his belt and should be respected as such. Remender has sold even the threat of Apocalypse possibly returning as pretty suspenseful (which is important in the ever shrinking X villain stable).
