Interesting premise, and I like that it doesn't seem that the Fire Nation would just roll over and accept Zuko's peace agreement after 100 years of believing that the rest of the world was inferior and deserved to be conquered.

Though in regards to the new design of Zuko, it looks like that joke from Ember Island Players ain't goin' nowhere soon.

While Zuko, Sokka and Toph look a little older. My guess is it's the art style.

Yeah a possible storyline I had in my dream version of Avatar season 4 would be the noble (for the same reasons the op said the fire nation wouldn't roll over) and rich families (after all war is an industry) of the Fire Nation working in secret to try and overthrow/fuck up Zuko's reign.....

And in order to combat some of their schemes as well as looking as objective as possible, Zuko would have use of a few "spirits" to get the job done (cuz i love black ops stories).

Not sure about the silly sense of humour, though I've generally heard a lot of good things about his writing. Plus he was one of the people complaining about the casting of the movie, so he's familiar with the show at least.

I've only read American Born Chinese, but there are moments. Although that might just be because he was writing Sun Wukong and his monkey subjects: monkeys are inherently silly.

And Sun Wokong doubly... no... quadrotripletly so. Because no one can outdo the Stone Monkey of the Mind in anything.

Particularly in messing himself up, but that's beside the point.

I absolutely adore that fancomic as a fanwork, but I really, REALLY wouldn't want it to be canon. There are too many parts of it that I love as fanon, but would infuriate me if they were canon.

I know that this is kind of a bump, but what parts didn't you like?

The part where Azula comes back eviler than ever. Her breakdown in the last episode was so pitiful that I much prefer to think that she might heal and become a better person. After all, she is just 14, it's not too late for her yet.

The part where Iroh closes an eye on the murder of innocent sailors and on fucking slave trade, even of children, just so he can keep Zhao out of trouble so that there might be a chance that he might one day maybe possibly find some info on Azula's plans. And even after they located Azula, Iroh still never even suggested that Zaho might have to face punishment for the murder of the sailors, for taking bribes, and for facilitating slave trade.

I don't care if Azula was the second coming of Hitler or worse, I just refuse to accept a portrayal or Iroh that has him allowing and covering up such abominable crimes.

The page where Zhao walks away with a bribe while a kidnapped family with a toddler looks at him desperately as they are about to be separated and sold as slaves by pirates is so far past the Moral Even Horizon it's unbelievable. And that's before we find that Nauja loses her husband and children to those very same pirates, and it's implied that the kidnapped women have been raped.

The part where the main pairing in the comic, Zhao/Nauja, becomes possible after Zhao indirectly causes her husband to die and her children to suffer a fate worse than death. Extremely, unbelievably tasteless.

I'm a pretty huge fan of Avatar, but I really don't want a continuation of Aang's story. I wish they would just leave it as-is, and continue with Korra's story.
