CosmicBookNews has the trailer for what looked like a GREAT TV series.

I am shocked that this was passed on (as Fringe will need a successor) and this looked good.
I swear I feel like I am living in an alternate universe where we went left instead of right, entertainment projects that are good get done and bad ones are dropped.

Anyways, I ramble.

The link, in case you can't see it.

Again, looks like good casting, a solid "mood" to the piece, and that ability to capture the mundane day-to-day stuff we take for granted and hide that mystery in plain sight.

Alas...

For legality, the way my mind usually drifts.

No, they did not cancel Fringe, but in terms of story I don't think they can do more than another season after this one.

It never got the chance. Fox will not show the pilot.

Well, maybe they'd had felt differently if this has been produced by Spielberg.

And it's got Dinosaurs!

I'm shallow when Dinosaurs are involved.

Also Stephen Lang, I think. :) He was easily one of the best parts of Avatar, along with the helicopter lady.

It doesn't have dinosaurs. It has giant lizard things.

Aaron "The Mad Whitaker" Bourque; what? Being petty about historic and anatomical accuracy? Perish the thought.

Fucking Fox.[/quote]

You know, if we had a dollar for every time someone said that or something close to that sentiment... XD

I liked the pilot too when I saw it at the SDCC last month. I actually didn't realize it was Miranda Otto (i.e. Eowyn) who played the mother until I saw the credits, but the whole pilot was intriguing enough. And Joe Hill was at the panel when they showed the pilot.

Sigh! Looks like the comics and my imagination will have to do.

I think that looked great, and I like that, assuming they'd follow the plot of the first volume, they didn't give it away, instead they seem to have focused on the subtly dangerous relationship between Bode and Dodge. At least the series is going to wrap up okay at IDW, and we're even getting a sourcebook.

Still, stupid FOX. It's not like there'd be anything that expensive to fork out for in terms of visuals, at least compared to some potential adaptations. I'm really impressed by the actress they chose for Dodge, though. She's attractive enough (moreso outside the role) but she has that subtle androgynous (sp?) look to her that's awfully appropriate, though I do wonder how they'd handle later events regarding her.

Ok for one, that moment at the 1:19 mark actually scared the shit outta me.

Two, this looks like this would be a good show. I keep hearing good things about Locke and Key so maybe I should start reading the series.

Three, once again a good show gets the ax...in Fox's case that definitely rings true..Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was awesome. Breaking In...it's a crime how little people seem to know of that show. That is a good show. Now this gets axed before it even airs.

Actually, I think they just announced Breaking In is coming back for a second season, or they're expected to anyways.

Feck. It's a suitably tight adaptation - and of course you can't judge based on the trailer made after a pilot - but I'm not convinced. Had it been lit, I'd watch it, but only as a vehicle to promote the comic to my pop-culture-savvy friends. There's an awful lot that the comic book does which one simply, well, can't do on television.

(As has been previously, painfully proven by Messrs. Ang Lee and Zack Snyder.)

Let me get this straight: they had a great story already constructed by Stephen King's son (even if they don't have the tagline saying it), Miranda Otto (a.k.a. Eowyn a.k.a. original BAMF), and Sarah Bolger (a.k.a. Mary Tudor) and they don't green light it?

Fixed it for you.

Yup. What's worse is that a series like this doesn't NEED a ridiculous budget. This should have been an easy call, especially in the fall when scary shows are needed.

Pretty much. Although Joe Hill was really gracious when he said at the SDCC panel to remind everyone to not have bad feelings and that what has happened, happened. No point in being bitter about it. He really took it well.

And THANK YOU for telling me about Sarah Bogler! It was bugging me because that actress looked so familiar and yet I had no idea why. You gave me some of my sanity back. =)
