So, the reboot is looking pretty bad for the Arrow kids. There's no indication we'll have Mia anytime soon, Connor apparently "ages Ollie up" too much- nevermind that Bruce totally had time for four Robins and a ten-year-old kid and that Connor was born well before Ollie became Green Arrow- and, of course, Lian, who should also have been born before her father's current identity change, also apparently ages Roy up too much. Suffice to say, current plans don't hold much hope for these three.

Of course, plans can be changed.

This may just be a pipe dream, but I’ve been considering trying to get some good fan action going to demand their return- tweeting Krul and co., writing letters to DC, starting a petition, etc.- but it’ll take a fair number of people and some level of coordination to really make ourselves heard.

Turns out, Scans_Daily has a fair number of people and a good platform for coordination.

So, what do you all say to some type of mass effort? If nothing else, just a designated day to spam DC's, Krul’s, and other relevant creator's twitters with #bringbackconnorhawke, #bringbackmiadearden, #bringbacklianharper, #bringbackthearrowkids or some similar message would catch a few eyes, but even that requires getting people together and semi-organized.

Any ideas? Anyone with petition experience would be especially great.

We can't just limit it to the Arrow family, but then again, too many causes all at once will saturate the contacts and decrease the effect.

We need a careful and clever strategist.

I was thinking of that when I made this post, but as you said, the more chars you throw in, the more diluted the message gets. Even combining the three Arrow kids is pushing it.

Eh, the only thing I can think to do is writing a sincere letter as to why certain characters should remain. Otherwise, what else is there? A petition? Twitter spamming? If anything can be done it has to be attention grabbing and not just a mere form of nerd rage as that is never taken seriously to be quite honest.

Connor was the first DC hero I ever got attached to. I'll be deeply disappointed if the Arrow kids are permanently out of continuity. Surely it's not that hard to deage them a few years?

you know my biggest problem with the arrow relaunch? He's now apparently a techie hero, but his primary weapon is an archaic killing tool.

That might well be the hook, when tech breaks down, a bow and arrow will continue to work, plus it's silent, has a decent range, and is still hard enough to use that it maintains non-powered bad guys as a credible threat. (And isn't Batman in the same boat, and his principle weapon is the far less versatile boomerang)

Of course, if they go back to "GA firing five arrows to block five handguns' firing pins before you can type a full stop", then I lose interest.

not really for me. You make someone a tech hero then to me they need that technology to be an effective hero. Sort of like Iron Man, even if it's tool rather than armor. Batman's main weapon is his body, including his brain. Everything else is just used to increase efficiency

Look at athletes that use technology to increase their potential, though. When actually involved in an event they're not carrying or wearing any type of device, but they're all there during training. Besides I got the impression that making Queen DCNuU's Bill Gates was to differentiate him a bit from Bruce Wayne, while still going back to his roots as a Batclone. (I hope Babs manages to modify Queen stuff for her own use if they're going to try to interconnect the new U)

It falls under the category of 'be careful what you wish for' though. Even if all the Arrow kids were incorporated into the NuU, would they still be recognizably those characters? IMO, all characters dumped for the reboot will probably resurface in some fashion just as most of Marvel's Ultimateverse became populated with versions of the 616verse.

I'd asked mad and schmevil if they could ask about Mia at one of the FanExpo panels. DC's response to whether she'd be in the new DCU was "maybe." (They then said Steph is now Spoiler, Cass exists and Booster Gold is Canadian).

I'm hopeful about Mia. She's appeared in Smallville (...although as a brunette...); when Winick revealed her HIV positive status, it made mainstream media news, as well as she represents people who get very little representation; and with Artemis being in Young Justice, people who want to read about (another) blonde lady archer in DC can read about Mia. She's also pretty popular.

Lian, on the other hand, suddenly doesn't exist (WTF) and Connor, I don't know? I haven't heard anything official. I really hope they don't get rid of Connor, too, but I'm less hopeful about him than I am about Mia. :(

But I will tweet to DC_Nation and J.T. Krul about the Arrowfam :)

Then there was the coma thing, which, he was actually shot in the back, but the bullet was coated with neurotoxin, because that's totally plausible, and it pretty much turned him into a vegetable until Sivana kidnapped him to experiment on.
