Due to a translation error in spell-code, Sunspot, Cypher, Magma, X-Man and Warlock find themselves in Hell and in front of Mephisto's throne.







M continues his pitch while Doug tries to re-do the spell but no luck. Mephisto offers his help and takes an admiring glance at Amara. Bobby attacks him and Mephisto responds but Amara separates them with a lava alpha strike. Mephisto is impressed and makes an offer.





Ha. Now I'm picturing Mephisto staring at his cell and going, "Ok, now wait two days. Don't want to come off desperate."

Also: If Sunspot is reacting this badly to Mephisto, I'd hate to see what would have happened if Wolfsbane had been with them. Poor Rahne would probably had gone fetal position.

Well, I was under the initial impression this was some sort of "untold story" of the New Mutants early days, When Rahne was still in her "Scared self hating mutant Catholic girl" phase.

I'd imagine current day Rahne would probably deal better, Since she's much stronger nowadays than she was back then, but she definitely wouldn't be a happy camper.

Also: Mephisto seems uncharacteristically jubilant here.

I don't know, Rahne has gone through some serious trauma lately and she seems to be reverting.

Catholic? Not that many of 'em in Scotland. I think Rahne (or at least Reverend Craig, her foster-father-who's-actually-her-biological-father) was Presbyterian.

Oops! Correction. A quick Wolfram Alpha search points out that Catholics are the second largest Christian denomination in Scotland, after the Church of Scotland/Presbyterians.

Yeah, plus I'm pretty sure Revrend Craig is Catholic (or at least he dresses like one, or maybe I'm misremembering. Someone repost that comic where Rahne goes back to her hometown and tells her old man off. Or I can check myself later. whichever.)

Except most Catholic clergymen aren't addressed as "Reverend." "Father" is far more common. And the Roman collar and black soutane can be used by any number of Christian denominations.

No Reverend Craig is definitely Presbyterian, possibly even Wee Free, certainly not Catholic.

Peter David had a mention of her as Catholic in an early X-Factor preview, and was quickly corrected by online fans, so was even able to correct it before publication.

I know Wolsbane and Reverend Craig are suppose to be Presbyterian but I have never seen her say anything that isn't pure Catholicism. Suicide being and unforgivable sin, works/faith righteousness, heck most of her guilt issues. Has is ever been addressed how she is a Presbyterian when most if not all of her religious views seem to be so stereotypically Catholic?

Yep. Though I only know this after I recently read Robert Louis Stevenson's kidnapped where the Jacobite Catholic Alan Breck appears. People. Go read now. Best buddy/adventure story ever... even if you don't know what they're saying half the time when you *read* it.

Oh man, the last story arc of X-Factor really made me wish we could still post PAD stuff here. Not only because of some of the crack like the hairball baby, but because I was so ANGRY at Rahne at the end of the issue and I really wanted to be able to post it somewhere and rage about it. I mean, okay, yes, her baby was pretty terrifying, but did you see it's sad little face when she rejected it? :(

Yeah, the last arc was awesome. Honestly, I felt bad for both Rahne and the kid.

It's a good PSA to use birth control when boffing a god.

But Rahne's kid will be scary/cute. 10 no-points says it grows fast and interacts with the XF crew soon enough.

There were so many fun things from the last arc. I especially loved the stuff with Cerberus at the end where he just stopped fighting and was like, "I'm going home". lol. I wouldn't be surprised if the kid grew super fast. Rahne's pregnancy was kind of accelerated, wasn't it? Oh well, at least the fur baby is with Jack Russell (that name, heehee). He seems like he'll be able to take care of it.

Yeah, Russell and his Dickensian name will be a good foster-daddy to the cub.

I'll be interested to see if ghost-Feral pops up again.

Yeah. Now's a perfect time for me to pull out my old saw about how X-Factor is the ultimate Scans-Daily comic, he totally writes it for this demographic. It's infuriating, it's the only comic that I buy just to talk about and I have nobody to talk about it with.
