I doubt Carlie will receive any real backlash in the series as long as Slott/Quesada is in control of the title.

The writers at this point have just responded to fan criticism with more salt in the wound (when they're not outright insulting the fans online); I.E. the numerous jabs at the fans of the Spider-marriage after OMD. The more people bash Carlie, the more she will be rubbed in our faces.

The only way Carlie will be written out at this point is when there's a new "brain trust" on the title.
