Kinda close.

The comic made it clear that Emerson, who is the CEO for Queen Industries, doesn't like Ollie much at all. He sees him jumping all over the world and would rather see him back in Seattle running the company more closely. He really came across as Obediah Stane to me. They didn't do much with him and didn't really hint that he's not a grand conspiracy up and running but that he would much rather have the company in his hands.

Oh, but he will. He'll either think up an evil scheme himself, or some bad guys are going to get the guy involved to pick up the pieces. Because, you know, it's kinda rare that talking shit out like a normal human being actually happens in superhero comics...

There is one difference, and amusingly, it's one of the few things Stark and Ollie actually have in common: the endearing buffoon part. We like them best when they find out they're not as smart as they think they are. Both have a vulnerability of hubris(in the cause of good, but still hubris) that often gets them in over their heads, giving them a genuine challenge to overcome. This often drives stories for both characters.

And that's what was eliminated here.

That is very very true!

*shrugs* I'm still on the fence about Green Arrow. It wasn't one I was going to pick up but when I went to the shop to get my other books it became an impulse buy. It wasn't a bad read. I just got the conception that it felt like the story from the first Iron Man movie and it really colored the rest of the rest of the read for me. Going to give it an issue or two more though!
