Amazing Spider-man #669 preview
Sep. 9th, 2011 08:23 amComicBookResources has the preview of #669, as the action intensifies.

We have a new entry for butt-shot week.

And all that training with Shang Chi finally got put to use. Too bad the art doesn't reflect it.
All and all though, it has not been the utter disaster I thought it was in terms of a super hero story, but the personal character interactions in the background of the tale really make me hate (some more) what Marvel is doing to Peter Parker.

Date: 2011-09-09 06:29 pm (UTC)1: Shocked you didn't put the page of Carlie getting kicked in the face. I thought that image would be the mascot for SD.
2: White Rabbit. First panel. Asking the reader for the buttsex?

Because, despite all her talk about how her being a cop made her more qualified to handle bad guys than Peter, not only did she get her butt whooped by three of Spidey's C-list villains (albeit spider-powerd ones) but that the boyfriend she was supposed to be "protecting" managed to defeat all three of them single-handed without breaking a sweat. And if Peter then tells her that this is proof it's too dangerous for her and that she really doesn't know what she's doing, Carlie's initial gratitude toward Peter for saving her life and amazement of his kung-fu skills will turn to anger and thus end their all too brief "team-up."

From:Martial training
Date: 2011-09-09 06:57 pm (UTC)...it's showing Peter Parker effortlessly taking down a group of Super-villains in a single panel with a few well-placed moves. How is that not reflective of his martial arts training?
Re: Martial training
Date: 2011-09-09 07:02 pm (UTC)Love Chance and all the other D-listers though.
Re: Martial training
Date: 2011-09-09 07:10 pm (UTC)I don't see where he starts (who he attacked first), I don't see actualy contact, I don't see how he pivots, I don't see force, direction, and flow of movement.
As far as I can tell from the art, he starts at the upper left, puts a choke on Chance, using his legs and his butt cheeks, SOMEHOW maneuvers above Scorcher, thrust kicks the back of Scorcher's head, spins to the ceiling and launches himself into a tackle/nerve attack on White Rabbit as the final strike.
With all of his limbs saying he is doing something else.
In short, the physics are wrong.
