Greetings True Believers!

I'm in a whimsical mood due to some good fortune and I also saw these behind the cameras pics from the set of the Avengers movie and they made me laugh.

I'm going to add some captions and you do the same!

Enjoy!

BROTHER! THIS IS MY MAD FACE!

Why yes, the hammer is my penis.

I grant you permission to spritz the Son of Odin.

I don't even know about this one. I leave it up to you fine fellows and gals.

Hilarity! Right over there!

Clint...why I oughta...

I know he loves the bike Tony but you'll never be able to buy your way into his heart.

Thor enjoys this Midgard "sushi"

Woah, not so loud. The Odinson had a long night with the Warriors Three.

Hawkeye explains the modern "That's what she said" jokes to Cap.

Why does Thor always get to be first in line? It's not fair, one day I'll rule Asgard...grumble.

Snap, almost forgot the Legalese.
Loki leaked these to the press

What is it about this movie? Why is it so great for image macros? Is it this photographer? Is it one photographer?

It's the actors. During camera time, they have this tendency to grope each other while there's an interview going on, to "misbehave", quoting Scarlett Johansson, to have shenanigans at Chili's, at Albuquerque movie theaters while watching Captain America and playing with children on set and generally making funny faces.

I've never had so much fun following actors and their interviews. I never even used to bother with actors 'til now.

Ok, not loving Cap's costume there. Looks like condom head Cyclops at his worst.

Hawkeye's is pretty cool, though I'm still not sold on Renner in the role. Perhaps because I've only really seen him in The Town, where he was a complete nutbar.

You need to see him in The Hurt Locker, where he plays an expert bomb technician who's actually a... nut...bar...

Hmm. Never mind.

I prefer his guest role in the first season of Angel where he plays a 200-year-old Puritan vampire who's actually a... nut... bar.

Oh crap, I just realised that was indeed Jeremy Renner. Huh. So I have seen him in something else.

And to be fair, I did quite like his cameo in Thor, though I was more caught up in the 'Hey, it's Hawkeye! Awesome' than I was analysing his performance.

Remember it well..

It's funny I watched the whole of Hurt Locker thinking, man this lead actor really reminds me of that vampire in season 1 of angel. (I'd just recently rewatched that season..)

But I was sure it couldn't be him, because so much time had passed, and I was sure that the actor in angel must look & sound completely different by now.

Then I went home, stuck in my dvd and sure enough, it was him. Such a weird moment!

See him in the Hurt Locker. A lot less asshole, a lot more gunho and funny, and I can see him being Clint.

Thors costume annoys me..

Because it's SOOO close to being great. But in the harsh light of day those armoured arms always ruin it for me. They just look so plastic!

I know there's at least one scene in the Avengers movie where he dosn't have them on, but I just wish they'd kept him like that for the whole movie..Would be much more like the classic Thor look..

Yeah, it's one instance where they might have been better to be less faiathful to the current comics, and if they absolutely had to use the armoured arms then I think a regular chain mail look would have sufficed.

Thanks for uploading these by the way. I thought I'd seen all the avengers pics out there on other sites, but quite a few of these had slipped me by.

(And that one with Thor pointing to something offscreen, I can help but think that by the order of the pics that he's laughing at Chris Evans!!)

Thanks!

Yeah I loved Steve's tenure as the Captain. (In fact many of the times I played the first Ultimate Alliance game, I tried doing so in the USAgent alternate, as since it still kept the Captain America voice it was very easy to imagine it was Steve as The Captain! LOL!)

And that moment of Cap throwing off his assaulters with Mjolnir in Thor #390, just felt sooo right, that it was a wonder no one had done it in an issue before then. (After all who else in the Marvel Earth could be as worthy as Steve Rogers?)

It's funny, Tom DeFalco's time on Thor has a lot of critics, (probably partly because it came so soon after Walt Simonsons definitive run on the title,) and I do think that Defalco and Frenz probably went too far in later issues to emulate Stan and Kirby. (Heck even they've admited that their 'homage' went a bit too far there..) But I do remember getting a tremendous amount of enjoyment out of their early issues. (The Spiderman story where Thor has to stop a whole skyscaper from falling down on them, and the extended Secret Wars flashback issue were incredibly fun at the time, and I think if I still had them they'd still be great today..) Glad to see that someone else here remembers that Cap issue though, it was a seriously great moment..

(Though I probably shouldn't have added 'The Hammer of Justice' to it, but a friend recently lent me seasons 2 & 3 of the Brave & The bold animated series, and I think Batman's tongue in cheek, and wonderfully over the top 'Justice' speeches have been rubbing off on me!)

By the way who is it in your icon? I feel as if I should know but the King Slayer bit's throwing me a bit. (Doesn't look like Kerry King to me..)

Oh right..

From: [personal profile] steverodgers5
Yeah. Even if Steve wasn't probably the fairest, most unbigoted character around, I think he probably would qualify to lift it due to all his WWII experiences, as I think that would serve him well in qualifying as the warrior type that someone like Odin would respect.

Yeah the SW flashback issue was ace. The artwork made even better moments out of the original secret wars stuff. (Still love Thor's answer to Titania thinking she can take him.."Mayhap woman, When Icicles ornament Surter's fiery realm!" LOL!) But I liked how Defalco gave Amora a bit more depth, than what she usually gets..

So you did post the Cap-Mjolnir moment! Good choice!

Brave and The Bold has really been a real surprise to me, as I think I watched the first episode on it's debut, and write it off as just an undemanding kids show. But in catching up with the later seasons now, I'm realising that it's actually got a real satirical, subversive streak to it. With a lot of adult in jokes that must go flying over kids heads. And Aquaman, (yes Aquaman!) is hilarious. They seem to have reimagined him as a DC version of Marvel Hercules. And it works suprisingly well..

Not watched Thundercats yet, as I think I'm almost afraid too. As I have a feeling the old show probably isn't as good as I remember it, and if I start watching the new one, I'll probably seek out the originals to compare, and they probably won't hold up. (Certainly that's what seemed to happen with Transformers..) But maybe somwhere down the line I'll give it a try..

I definitely have been meaning to get into Game of Thrones though, as I hear very good things about it from people I know. One of these days I'll catch up with it...Looking forward to doing so!

Chris Evans makes the most amazing faces. There are dozens of extreme comedy moments out there.

It really does look like Natasha's about to backhand Clint; and she's looking at Steve all "Shall I? Shall I?" and Steve is :D yes. Fury thought Cap would be a moderating influence, but he just wants MOAR SLAPSTICK.

Natasha about to backhand clint...

The nuCap suit takes a little getting used to, and the Ultimate-style sideribs on Hawkeye's costume make me glad that no one else's outfit used them. But otherwise this is fairly encouraging, and Hemsworth and Evans seem to be having a blast.

I dunno, I kinda like ScarJo as Natasha. And somewhere down the line, when Marvel Studios regains the movie rights to the X-Men franchise, we can have a confrontation between Black Widow and Deadpool, where Reynolds-Wade faces the screen and says, "Okay, so how many of you knew that this was going to happen?"

Well, Reynolds has said in interviews that he'd like the Deadpool movie to be true to the comic books, including Wade's fourth-wall breaking. Which is why I want one of Wade's first lines in the Deadpool movie to be, "I'm here because Green Lantern tanked."

He had a lot of charisma in just that brief scene with him in the crow's nest in Thor's movie. Honestly they couldn't possibly have made Hawkeye's character more appealing to the mainstream who have never even heard of him.
