I had a choice between this and the new Suicide Squad preview (If you want to see that, you can go here but on your own head be it.)

The following comes from www.acomicbookblog.net

If Dr Frankenstein has gone Ultra-Humanite on us, that's deeply, deeply creepy.

Something tells me that's not the way to get on his good side Ms Creature From the Black Lagoon

Marvel actually did a similar thing in an Iron Fist One Shot that had Dr. Frankenstein implant his brain in his child son's body.

Yeah, that was pretty awesome. Less awesome now, because I've seen it before. Maybe in some parallel universe, I saw this first, and I am posting this post in reverse on an Iron Fist scene. Trippy.

This is actually pretty cool. The idea works, the characters seem real, and it seems zany. The art is really nice, and i love the man bat connection. Frankesnstien looks to be a sleeper hit, and the Doctor being in a girl's body (priceless)

I did read the squad preview.... Its...mediocre at best. deadshot has 0 voice. It's like the past 30 years have been meaningless for the character. Harley is fine, so theres that but her redesign is still so stripperiffic that it's terrible.

Also, Glass's definition of task force x seems really off, they aren't FORCED, they do the program if they want to. It's just a better alternative.

You're assuming that THIS Task Force X works on the same principle as the pre-New-52 one, or that there has even been a Suicide Squad before now.

Ah that much is true. *sigh* new history is hard to learn sometimes. Not that I think it's a bad method, you want these nut jobs controlled.

Still, I think I'm biased. I love osterander and I miss the secret six.... Other than that though the new 52 is pretty good and I'm glad dc is putting quality out there (mostly)

I disagree. The idea works, but the characters seem cliche, aside from the fish lady, and it seems like its trying to take itself too seriously. Not my thing.

That's not Dr. Frankenstein in the girl's body--or at least wasn't originally; I don't know if Jeff Lemire has changed that. But the mask is a tipoff that's Father Time, who was in the body of a black man back in 7 SOLDIERS, then later as an old white guy in UNCLE SAM & THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS(because Black Adam ripped off his face in INFINITE CRISIS).

Now, I don't know if this is new continuity and Lemire has conflated Father T with Dr. F. But in any case, that's who this is. It's still funny either way though.

No, Eugenics is the social policy of improving the genetic base of a population.

Of course this makes even less sense and in comicbook terms is used as a 'dirty Nazi science word' so as to imply the character has done 'something no one should ever try to do'. Which I think was the point here.

Still makes no sense. Even by comic book science standards.

Eugenics technically just refers to any attempt to improve the gene pool. Although historically people have suggested doing this using selective breeding, mainly not letting supposedly genetically inferior people (different races, the congenitally disabled or developmentally disabled, etc.) reproduce, and has therefore been rightly associated with hateful and hate-filled ideologies, there's no reason the label couldn't also apply to the use of outright genetic engineering, so long as it was germline engineering where the fish lady could pass on her new genes to any offspring.

Oh, you mean the one where the Navy rounded up all the residents back in the Twenties after sending torpedoes down into the abyss just past Devil Reef? Not much of a town there anymore.

"There were vague statements about disease and concentration camps, and later about dispersal in various naval and military prisons, but nothing positive ever developed. Innsmouth itself was left almost depopulated, and it is even now only beginning to show signs of a sluggishly revived existence."

I'm guessing the character might have used surviving stock from those camps in her experiments. Wonder if Aquaman knows about the history there.

So, according to the fish ladies bio, she turned herself into a fish woman via "Cutting edge eugneics."

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Eugenics work that way. Unless she traveled back in time and convinced her ancestors to have sex with fish.

Dude, its comics. Ultra Humanite was doing this stuff in the forties when he put his brain in a movie star... and a dinosaur.... and an Albino Gorilla.

So yeah, Frankenstein in a Japanese Grade school girl doesn't really phase me. But the mask seems kind of superfluous.

As a couple of other people have pointed out, the little schoolgirl in the domino mask isn't Dr. Frankenstein. That's Father Time, a character introduced in Frankenstein's Seven Soldiers miniseries. He appears with a new body every New Year (or something like that), like the New Years baby. The first time he showed up, he was black and bald, then he was white with a goatee, and now he's a little girl.

(Notice that Velcoro calls the little girl "Father" too.)

Father appears to be "Father Time", one of the leaders of S.H.A.D.E. He appears to be a personality that changes host bodies through means we don't know about. he may regenerate every 12 months, or be sort of insta-reincarnated, or something more sinister.
