A little under four pages from DEMON KNIGHTS 1, DC's new series about superheroes in the Dark Ages...
Madame Xanadu and "Jason o' th' Blood" arrive in the village of Little Spring, near the kingdom of Alba Sarum (fictional, natch). They're just in time to see Vandal Savage barging into an inn.
Also at the inn are two new characters, the inventor Al Jabr and the ball-busting Exoristos. The innkeep doesn't want to serve the former because he's brown, but the latter points out that he's willing to serve her even though she's ten times as foreign as Al Jabr.
Apparently, Paul Cornell's gone back to the Jack Kirby version of the Demon's voice, where he only rhymes during important moments, usually when he's delivering the coup de grace to some baddie.
So then the Questing Queen unleashes an army of knife-wielding dinosaurs on them.

And Sir Ystin (glad they went with her instead of male Shining Knight) seems a bit snarky, which is odd. The other version was very well-mannered. Also, multi-camelots, ala Morrison's Seven Soldiers?

(Also, she is apparently freaking everywhere in the relaunch...here, JLDark, and Resurrection Man so far. I'm expecting her to show up in Swamp Thing and Animal Man before long. Probably Frankenstein, too.)

The fun thing about immortals is you can have them meet other immortals pretty much whenever you want without contradicting things as long as you don't try and tie it to specific events.

I thought that the idea of Jason Blood coming from Norwich was unintentionally hilarious. Now they have something other than the Mustard Shop to put on the list of things from there. :D I guess we can add Demonic Possession on the list of things that are Normal For Norfolk now.

Shining Knight showed up in Seven Soldiers and is made of AWESOME. I'm so happy to see Ystin so confident and happy!
