A ghostly figure arrived to steal children. Batwoman arrived to stop the creature, but the spectral kidnapper stole away with the little ones, and the heroine promised to get them back. Cut to Gotham P.D., as Detective Maggie Sawyer concludes her interview with the grieving parents

Remember, she was originally from Metropolis. I guess they couldn't be bothered to come up with a new lesbian police officer at Gotham PD.

That has nothing to do with the reboot though, she transferred years ago and worked at the GCPD at the same time as Montoya(well, joining there later than Montoya, but still).

Montoya's been at Gotham since 1992, since her creation. Sawyer didn't get to Gotham until 2003, and she was created in 1987.

And in fact, she was originally originally from Star City . . . but that was information introduced after her creation.

I know, I just read your comment as implying that Sawyer was brought to Gotham as a reboot-related somehow. Or was I off?

Well, again, we don't know enough to be sure. We don't know if, in the reboot, she started in Metropolis and then moved like before, or if she was always in Gotham.

Batwoman seems largely untouched by the reboot. (Remember, this has been on hold for awhile so that all the #1's could happen at once.) Sawyer was brought in as a potential romantic interest early on in Detective. This just continues it. (I imagine with a new Superman SAWYER'S Metropolois history might be altered, though.)

I'm just concerned about the idea of them de-aging Sawyer, which it feels like, and getting rid of her daughter(not that she gets much mention anyway, but still).
