A ghostly figure arrived to steal children. Batwoman arrived to stop the creature, but the spectral kidnapper stole away with the little ones, and the heroine promised to get them back. Cut to Gotham P.D., as Detective Maggie Sawyer concludes her interview with the grieving parents

Yeah I saw the convo up about the whole Flamebird getting turned into Plebe bit and it bothered me alot as well.

It...doesn't even make sense for Kate to "train" Flamebird who's an experienced crimefighter with more years than her on the job.

I could certainly understand a partnership with the two learning from one another but...it didn't seem like that all. It's like the writer's wanted to emphasize Kate's military background and thought it'd be funny to see her become Bette's Drill Sergeant. It was VERY off putting.

I think it does. Iirc, Bette has only been active as part of a team, especially team with metas, right? I assume these involve different skills from what Kate's doing.

I have the feeling the writer wanted to distance himself very much from Flamebird's kind of campy, cheerful image. This is Gotham, you know. City of gritty street-level.
