I actually liked the fact that the guy asked for a tip. Not really digging the level of stupid required to make him think immortality from the devil was a good idea, though.

Yeah, I think him asking for 15% would have been a lot funnier than whatever "ironic" punishment they come up for the guy. Just show that he's so used to the fantastic it no longer interferes with his ability to think of the mundane.
