Sep. 28th, 2011 09:48 amThe Galactus Seed story concludes.
Let there be resolution.
MAKE MINE MARVEL!
I would post the pages just before this as well, but I have reached my posting limit for a new issue. Discover the wonders and awe of the pages before and after.
The Silver Surfer returns to form, as being one of the most noble of the Marvel 616 Universe.
Loki has re-hidden the Seed away from the eyes of Galactus, Odin and the Surfer. Without anything to fight over, a truce is brokered.

Date: 2011-09-28 11:59 pm (UTC)Why does Fraction like to make Thor into an unlikeable jerk? His relationship with kid Loki was going so well and that part were he yelled at him I would have been OK if he hadn't grabbed his neck and threatened to break it and then calling him a bastard son... Dude I understand the last 40 you gave your brother a chance on redemption he basically fucked you up but he's still a kid! The talk afterwards they mended some stuff but that whole scene could have gone better.
And Sif, I am sorry but she doesn't seem to have much of a personality, I will forever miss Walt Simonson Sif.

Date: 2011-10-06 11:51 am (UTC)Fraction seems like a Sif fan. He's already sowed the seed of being one of those Thor writers who invents pathetic love interests to keep Jane from being a threat. It seems some Thor writers are annoyed that Jane is so strong as a character she keeps coming back. I think they wish she'd been Gwen Stacy-ed. I wish female fans would get behind her more because she has been horrendously mistreated over the years but her prolonged absences has made it easier to ignore. To Become an Immortal was the One More Day of the Silver Age. She's had her memories stolen twice and was married off to a nobody. I wonder how nuts S_D would go if that happened to Mary Jane?
Fraction, in 6 issues (his first arc with Ferry) had Doctor Selvong go from perving on her (to the point Volstagg has to tell him to stop thinking with his dick), to having her kick him in the dick, to having them holding hands, cuddling and having her with him after another character tells her to be with who you love with nothing to back it up. And then there is the fact that none of Jane's other love interests have been a threat to Thor. Selvong is middle aged, losing his hair and wears bifocals. If Thor can get beautiful woman after beautiful woman why is Jane stuck with these inferior men? She's a beautiful young woman!
Jane was created to be Thor's love interest and her role as the Doctor to the Avengers was a great expansion but that doesn't change her foundation. While she's pushed away from Thor she will never fulfill her role or potential. Its like Lois Lane having no romantic subplot with Superman for decades.

Date: 2011-09-29 11:40 pm (UTC)I dunno but Fraction's Thor like the way he writes Steve are weird and OOC to me, especially Thor when he starts being a mega-jerk and starts saying things like "ass" he loses some of that class that I have always perceived on the character. I mean I can understand that living on Midgard for such a long time especially being Don Blake made Thor pick up a few stuff along the way, but what I always liked about Thor is that even when he's really pissed off he finds a way to express himself eloquently and without losing some of that class, same thing with Steve because I really can't see him call someone "Son of a bitch" the man is too respectful to women to even use the word bitch that way.
I guess besides Iron Fist (and that was co-written with Bru) I don't like Fraction's writing that much. And his only Thor stuff that I enjoyed was Secret Invasion: Thor eh so maybe I am just biased.
